A/C High Pressure Switch Replaced but further issues recorded now on VCDS

Hey all, during my engine swap i had the high pressure AC switch go bad (11 years old so was going to happen eventually i guess), it leaked gas out of the wiring plug connector so basically now has zero pressure. I have replaced the switch and running the car up i now get the following codes below .  
The air recirculation flap issue was there for years and the AC worked fine , but i'm still showing 2 other codes inc one for the new switch , so the question is that if i get the system regassed will the faults clear themselves , i'm thinking the compressor isnt maybe switching on due to zero pressure etc but i dont know enough about the system so any advice from someone that been down this path would be appreciated as the AC was working fine before the old switch blew out .

Did you check the loom connector of G65 for corrosion?

The system won't start up if the pressure is zero.

Ok so i'll need to either regas it and risk an issue or somehow get some psi into the system to check its ok then regas it (as i live on a tiny island with no bridge to the mainland, so the regas is a day out trip and exxy 😐 ) .

Followed the same path, hard to recall but I think even with zero pressure it should not throw up an open or short to ground fault code, I think it will show an insufficient pressure fault code, in fact I think that VCDS records absolute pressure so would show 1 bar with a degassed system.

 

My first cheapo pressure sensor did not work, same deal with the first and second compressor modulating valve, costs a lot of money in regassing to find out that the new replacement is rubbish.

 

Just for test purposes you could put 1 bar of pressure in the system with an airline then see if VCDS responds to the sensor, you dont need to run the engine it will come up under measuring blocks and you could then bleed it off.

 

good luck, I got so fed up with paying for regasses and sponsoring my own personal hole in the ozone layer that I spent out on a guage set, vacuum pump and cylinder of R134a.

 

Editted, when the pressure sensors leak the liquid refrigerant can corrode the contact pins on the connector, worth removing it and de-oxidising them before condemning the new G65 sensor.

Thanks for the reply , i just got up super early (Monday here) to test the brand new pressure sensor/switch and it is indeed new and totally useless 😛 , i had an old 2nd hand one off the donor golf which i removed the engine out of for my engine conversion (8v BMM to 16v BDK) i fitted this and all the prior codes vanished apart from low pressure in the system ! 

I was a bit hesitant on using the sensor as with the VW/Skoda hybrid i assembled the sensor is a PITA to replace due to coolant lines being very much in the way and didnt want to use a 12 year old sensor, however its proved that the new sensor/switch is well useless at best and needs to be binned.
I messaged a friend on the island that says he has all the gear to do the regas later today, so hopefully i dont have to get the car onto the car barge over to the mainland.
Thanks for the advice, its much appreciated . I'll post later today or once the AC gas been regassed hopefully with more good news as its going to hover around 35deg C today and icy cold AC would be nice :)

I got the AC regassed yesterday , so far no problems :) . 

 

Though the years old error code is bugging my soul now so i will fix this sooner than later but when the weather cools down . lol

That one was also my bugbear, flappaerobics would remove it for a while but it always came back, big dash out job to solve mine (might be a different flap) I think, having fitted a Chinese head unit I have loads of fault codes now where its looking for the old radio and also things like Bluetooth that the car never had, the flap fault code is lost amongst all the others now 😀

I took the whole dash out of the VW Golf donor car for my engine swap so i do have some parts and the complete guts to examine and practice getting the part off BUT the 4x4 Octavia is Climate control so i know there are differences but as to whether the flap is one of them i dont know. However i will continue to just live with it for now and deal with it in the winter rather than in my partially air conditioned garage (still gets a tad warm, lol)
I did also recycle the Golf door micro switch last week as the Octavia had been locking its keys in the car for the last 6 years and since i had the rest of the car apart i thought i'd totally strip the door too for ****s and giggles 😛
