It's based on the already existing 1.4TSI EA211 series indeed (as far as I can tell, since the Passat GTE shares the same engines).

FWIW, there are no "new" 1.4 TSI 4-cylinders series as you can see above.

 

Fun fact, the 1.4TSI EA211 engine is manufactured for the whole VAG group by the Skoda plant of Mlada Boleslav, where the high-voltage batteries for the iV are made too.

 

 

 

Some nit : I'll receive my Superb iV Combi Sportline (French edition with a Sportline+ optional package) by next Wed Feb, 26th.

My contract is up soon and I'm jumping up to the L&K Estate. The contract hire rates on this were better than the Sportline so I managed to squeeze this overa 4 year contract.

Good news, FWIW good decision to have chosen the L&K over the Sportline edition given the issue I saw : when you have a Amundsen, it's not possible to see maps by the Virtual Cockpit... And nobody told me about this before.

Congratulations, and good choice. I've now had a provisional date for the arrival of mine as 2nd week of April, so not too much longer for me to wait. I'll post some pics and details once I get it.
