Instrument cluster fault and removal

Featured Replies

Mum's car, can't remember what year it is. The LCD is just green, I can see there are repair places online but as yet unable to determine how to get the instrument cluster out.

All the guides I have seen have dash panels either side of the wheel, this car doesn't.

It seems the trim below the cluster might pull out to reveal some screws perhaps?

I've looked at online workshop manuals but can't find anything relevant and the sites are really badly designed.

Just trying to save her some money, if she takes it to Skoda, I dread to think what they'll charge.

If adjustable, move the steering wheel downward and outward as much as possible; then try gently pulling that trim panel below the cluster straight back towards you. I think it may reveal two Torx head screws that hold the cluster in. Once those are removed you should be able to get at the electrical connectors on the back. Undo these carefully and the cluster should be free to emerge.
