Forge induction kit fitted, feels lest restricted and without the OTT roar of an open cone.

Can't see why this kit has people badly reviewing it, brilliant quality and fits like a glove. Only potential upgrade would be widening the cold air intake port a little, or even adding in a bonnet scoop.

Totally agree with you about the reviews of the filter however you can flip the filter & battery 90 degree's for better air flow like I done here:

In terms of an intercooler, Universal intercoolers from ebay is going to do as good a job as the Airtec and forge, I bought mine 2nd hand for £100 to find out the original buyer paid nearly £400 form a company and its a universal one from ebay!

I Think I replied to your exhaust query on the mk2 facebook page....

That is my plan! Did you buy the mounting braket to do that? Can't see any info online on how to do it.

Yeah I have looked up those universal intercoolers, looking at one similar size to to the forge/airtec and hope a modding garage could do it in a few hours with some new silicone hoses for not too much.

I saw your reply on exhaust thanks for that! I am going to go downpipe, mid silencer (to make up for the volume of decat), cat back, resonater and muffler from a custom place like Longlife or Infinity.

RTMG sell the battery relocation tray to let you flip the battery 90 degree's and from that its just a case of buying the silicon pipes and joiners, I opted to try and relocate the battery myself and bought my own tray and made my own brackets for a fraction of the price...see my build thread.

So the car is in for a full custom exhaust  system at Infinity Exhausts this Wednesday. Decided to go with a 2.5" bore with downpipe, straight through no mid section (decat with a mid silencer to make up for the sound) resonater & tip.

Next up is the intercooler upgrade to meet stage 2 requirements, I have looked around and as per advice (inlcuding @Mickmartin) I will go for a universal eBay intercooler. Found one the same size as the airtech one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Front-Mount-Alloy-Intercooler-600-x-300-x-76mm-Core-Universal-2-5-Inch-In-Out/372692598991 but want to get uprated silicone intake hoses while I am doing it, deos anyone know what size/shape I need?

Local modding garage has quoted to fit the intercooler (and install some new coilovers while I am there) for about £150 which is very reasonable. Any opinions on the mid range Stance coilover kit? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stance-Ultra-Coilovers-Suspension-Kit-Skoda-Fabia-5J-All-Engines/142660667808

I've heard people agree & disagree about stance coil overs, AP seem to be the way forward however if its a comfy ride your looking for no kit available will make these cars comfy when lowered😀

You can buy the forge or pro hoses silicon kit for our cars -

I opted for the pro hoses as I got them cheap 2nd hand.

Yeah from people who have actually proven fitting and trying most say they are decent, but won't drop very low (I only want 30mm anyway). These are the 'ultra' ones so more expensive than the cheaper 'street' ones so hope they would be good, just not keen to shell out an extra £215 on them!

Do I need the silicone kit for the new intercooler, or is it just good to do whilst installing a new intercooler anyway? I assume the pipes are bigger so they are required?

The intercooler kit  if like mine will fit straight on to the existing intercooler pipes, I bought the hoses later on and wish I fitted them at earlier as I ended up having to take the bumper back off again looking for boost leaks.1A980F92-39BB-4931-820E-EA1C776FF8B0.thumb.jpeg.5d4b84d3eba2b91ac5aefd1cf5e3d21e.jpeg
