Collection has been put off til Tuesday or thereabouts. Logistics didn't work out (too much work came in for tomorrow so I can't pass up the moneymaking).

  • Due to bad knees (hazards of working on bended knee all day) it's hard to find exercise which doesn't leave me crippled for the rest of the week if I do too much, so invested in a good rowing machine

Looks well. Great motor. If it’s a tdci unit I’d change the fuel filter every other year and ignore the Ford service schedule for it. They’ve a habit of causing starting issues. Enjoy!!

Yep, it's the 180 TDCI engine. Seems nippy for a big motor.

I owned an A4 3.0tdi quattro, although it was just a manual. Great car. Mpg well into the 40s on the motorway and a decent turn of speed when pressing on :) I also had the Sports Diff, which after a job I went to got cancelled and we got sent home, I took advantage of the empty snow covered car park we would have used and spend 20 minutes being a pillock....   I broke my diff :D

They had to fly a new one in from Germany and I got a loan car for a few days. Luckily the car was under warranty. I asked how much it would have cost me for the whole job if I had to have spent my own money (the Sports Diff was a £500 option on a new car) and I was told something like £7k (£5.5k for the diff alone)

Last factory engine we fitted to an M5 was 8k. Makes that diff look expensive. Although they sent us a crank first of all that was that poorly manufactured from the factory that they did a deal on the unit they sent us. The crank on its own was 5k

should have said it was the 4.4 unit. 👍🏻
