Fabia 3 front headrests move on their own

Featured Replies

 Hello,

I am not pretending this is  a huge issue but I am puzzled. I thought the headrests on both front seats on my Fabia SEL 110  were a bit high a while bac so I lowered them as far as they would go.  I used the button at the side as the handbook says to do. I noticed today that they were both higher than where I had set them. I reset them as far as they would go again but then  I noticed they could be raise without using the button at the side. They could also be lowered  without using the button but once they reached a certain height I needed the button to lower them and that must have been their maximum height because I couldnt raise them any more even using the button.

My wife is not very tall and her headrest should be as low as it can go but it can move up from there without either of us touching it as I say. The same for mine. Its the work of a moment to reset obviously but equally obviously not while the car is being driven!  I have just tried the two rear ones and they are the same; with them completely down you can push them up without the button to a certain height but no further and they can be lowered from there without the button. exactly  As front and rear headrests  work exactly the same it would seem that they are operating the way Skoda intended them to work? My wife says the headrests on our Fabia 2 operated in the same way.

      Thanks.

If you are not happy that they move on their own  then just put some glue onto them at the wanted height, or pack it with a bit of cardboard........

You sure you are not moving them accidentally, when doing your sexercise, maybe, Lol.

Otherwise, call your local vicar and ask him to do an exorcism, Lol.

The headrests on my previous Fabias worked in the same way.  However, they were quite stiff, probably too stiff, to move up and down and certainly couldn't move on their own.  Try taking them out and cleaning the metal rods to get rid of any grease or lubricants on them.
