Vcds coding

Featured Replies

Hi I have bought a new headunit for my Skoda and learnt it needs coding is there anyone in Warrington that can come and do the coding for me thanks

If it's a genuine Skoda headunit then it will probably also need CP removal, which cannot be done with VCDS - it needs online access to a Skoda server.

It is genuine and that’s already been done just needs coding

Oh yes, CP has been hacked I see...

As Sasha has replied in your other thread, headunit coding is NOT simple and should be done by someone who is experienced at it.

BTW two threads for one subject = confusion - stick to one thread.

What’s your problem atall if your not going to be helpful don’t comment! I’m only saying what the seller said to me. He said it had been done so I am SORRRY for referring what I’d been told and in regards to starting another thread when I was speaking to Sasha that what’s knowing exatly what I needed to do she explained it needs vcds to decode it soo I started a new thread to see if anyone could come to me todo that soo why don’t you STOP being so argumentative

Really? Why don’t you look over the past conversations all iv asked is for help in this area and all you’v done is not be help but tell me about how wrong I am with everything iv said/explained there’s always one know it all I surpose.

Yes really.

Dave has actually given you sound advise by letting someone experienced code it to the car, which is also what Sasha previously told you.

FYI:

1/ CP removal cannot be done with VCDS... but as that has already been cracked you shouldn’t have an issue with that (unless you take it to a dealer)

2/ Coding the radio to the car needs VCDS and someone who knows what they are doing

3/ As this is non essential you will struggle to get anyone (with any sense) to do it at the moment, let alone come to you to do it.

4/ You really need a scan of the car with your current radio before you remove it.

They wouldn’t and I wouldn’t ask them to as the last thing you want is them messing up the CP patch. Have you taken delivery of the radio yet? If not, get an autoscan of your car done and ask them if they can code it to match before sending it.

Coding radios to match isn’t a process to do at home if it’s your first coding attempt, you can do a lot of damage and I recommend seeking the help of someone who is competent in this area.

Again I asked a simple question is there anyone in Warrington who has knowledge of vcds coding in Warrington that can come to me and doo it I never disputed that fact that I need someone who knows about vcds coding.

Also can I just mention this is the first Skoda I have owned I was asking for help not Criticism

Well good luck with that attitude in getting anyone to help. 😮

Briskoda is a really friendly and helpful forum... but you only get out what you put in.

I haven’t had an attitude all iv done is explain the help I wanted and yes it is your right Sasha was very friendly and helpful. And I thanked her for the advice she gave me.

Not sure why the OP is being jumped on here. The first passive aggressive comment was from someone else who mentioned hacking.

I think you'll find very little physical help at the moment. If you decide to buy the kit I'm sure there will be lots of members who could help you.

Could also try in the technical section as there are lists and maps of vcds owners. Might have more lunch there?

Edit: You may want 'lunch', but I expect you would be looking for 'luck' 🙈

Yeh I understand with everything that’s going on it wouldn’t be possible to do it right now just seeing if anyone able to do it in the near futurewhen we’re back to normal thanks

@Brooksy2020 kinda feel for you a bit, getting things done right now is frustratingly slow but, I can't see many/any willing to physically help during distancing.

@PetrolDave you need to cut new members a little more slack mate, even if you're not in the best of moods yourself.

FFS guys we've got months of this come yet, find a way of dealing with it

Yeh I understand that I will just have to wait. and listen guys I didn’t want to cause any confrontation I just wanted help if I came across otherwise it wasn’t my intention Going off track here I don’t know how many other people have mk3 Skoda but at 70mph there is a horrible humming noise iv had it at the garage and they Car’t find anything mechanical wrong with it but it’s very annoying so any advise on this would be great thanks

Well that’s not the way it came across to me (at least):

So what would you call it?

The ONLY way to get CP removed is either by a dealer who will want to see proof that the item has not been stolen (the whole point of CP)

Or to get it hacked to remove the CP

+1

I have turned down several people in the last few weeks, most fully understand, one or two people however are still not getting the social distancing to the point of getting stroppy when I explain that I am not coding at the moment due to Covid-19.

I agree we are a long way before we come out of the other side... not helped by the few idiots who are acting like nothing has happened.

Fair play, starting multiple threads on the same subject doesn’t help matters though.

The humming is probably your rear tyres as the inside edge can wear unevenly (like the shape of a 50p)

  • Author

That isn’t having an attitude that’s just be expressing my opinion on the matter

  • Author

But Thankyou for the advise on the humming noisie question. the only thing on the rear tyres I can see is abit of cracking on the edge there Avon tyres

@Brooksy2020 if you run your hand around the inside edge of the tyre in both directions, one will feel smooth while the other will feel every lip of the tyre tread

(Replace 'will' with 'might').

This is what @Gizmo is talking about. One way of helping is to swap tyres front to back. Left to right is also possible if tyre are multidirectional. This should go a long way to helping and will help with even wear of all your tyres.

  • Author

I will have a look now and get back to you on that mate regarding moving the wheels back to front I did that when I changed the tyres on the car didn’t seem to make any differences tho

It takes some time to turn them into 50p's so new tyre shouldn't do it. Could be a wheel bearing. How many miles have the tyres done and how old is the car?

  • Author

Well when I say new tyres I mean I only changed two as there didn’t seem any Were on the other two soo I put the new tyres on the front and the old on the back so I couldn’t say how many miles the old tyres have don’t but they don’t look worn atall and it’s a 2013 modle

  • Author

Here are a pic of the condition of the back tyres on inspection I found a puncture repair don’t know if they could be the cultprate?
