Air Vent Clip Wanted

Featured Replies

Hello all ,

I have lost the passenger side air vent controller tab from my mk3 octavia ,it's the silver tipped version,  I'm strugging to find a genuine part to replace it ,  can anyone help point me in the right direction as to which other VAG cars use the same tab , or does anyone have a spare knocking around i could buy ? thanks

Mine also broke, I changed all vents in the end (from ebay).

Happened to ours yesterday....same side ! Called at the dealers apparently NOT covered under warranty [18mth old] & a new one around £30...anyone replaced one, surely not that difficult to fit ? Then its between a scrapper £15 / £20 or a new one ?

Super easy fit, 4 tabs to pry per vent ;)

Mine were from ebay (scrapped) about 80€ with shipping for all 3 front vents.

OK then, where are the approx. locations & is best to pry upper or lower locations first ? Thanks.

Here're some pictures with the old vents.

You have to pry the tabs with a long thin flat crew driver. It's not always easy to squeeze the screwdriver in the tab. When it's in, you pry it open. The good news is that as you change whole vent, it's not a big deal if you over-bend / brake the tabs.

Fitting back the new vent is just pushing them back in place ;)

Been looking everywhere for this picture fantastic info thank you so much Woland

Update for center vent there are 8 clips that need pulling in 4 on the top and 4 on the bottom and a right pain to remove unless all clips are pulled fully down into retracted position (Maybe best to make it a 2 person job) once you have all clips pulled down it will pull out with a tool as above, I made the tool out of and old thin screwdriver.

Regards

Charles

ps the link above to Aliexpess is the wrong part for my mk3 Octavia as the center switch housing is different shape
