Roof Bars/Bike Rack

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I have a 2016 Octavia III hatch.  I want to take some bikes on holiday and as I don't wish to get a tow bar fitted, it looks like they've got to go on the roof.  Which brand/type look/fit the best?

Thanks

J

Pretty sure they all look awful on a hatch due to needing to clamp round the roof.  Why they don't include fixings on the top like many other cars I don't know.

When I've looked at them, the skoda genuine ones look quite nice and pick up on the locating holes I think.  They are narrower as they don't overhang though, so likely a Thule set may be better if you need that overhang width for bikes.  I have Thule Aerobars on another car and I couldn't really hear them inside until I put the roof box on.

Can you guys tell me if these are likely to be for the hatch or the estate?  Seen some used rails online
