For goodness sake! It's as if Skoda decided to care less and less about the RHD conversions of each generation - they went from a near perfect conversion on the MKII to leaving the handbrake and the b

  • Was about to make the same points. Reading this thread has had me losing sleep over the past 6 weeks or so and I feel for those guys who have had these ongoing issues. But I would say the picture is b

Another update today. Still same version 1788. Didn’t notice any mentioned problem so far.

Looks like I got the same one three days ago. Had 1788 version before the update and it remained the same after.

I also received one three days ago. But yeah version remained same after both updates.

Do you think Škoda knows? :D

Are you all manually checking for updates or are they being pushed OTA?

i dont think they have a clue 😂😂

I think the software version is something major that Skoda will apply. These seem to be very small updates ota

possible but some where a version number would need to be changed for skoda server to know you need an update or dont need one other wise would just keep saying update, this is how it works in updates development i use and would be the same for anything so unsure if thats the case and changes a version number some where else within system

True. I had the update and I'm on 1688 though.

Just got back from a short drive and in the middle of it I got an update notification. It said it can't be updated while driving. So I updated it when I got back. This time only one section was listed under the content. No changes in versions though.

Are people connecting the car to their home wifi or are the updates coming through the on-board SIM?

Coming through the onboard SIM

Jmagee, am I right in thinking it should update without you having to pay Skoda for the WiFi? You should just be able to update whenever?

I think so. The WiFi is only payable if you want to connect your phone to it in the car.

Cool. It is good to know that we do not have to connect anything up and that it should update itself.

Hi,

Minor annoyance: You cannot select side lights when moving.

I work on an Air Base and have to switch to side lights when approaching the gate. Can't do it, you have to stop, select side lights, then move VERY slowly forward or the mains come on again. I don't expect many people will be affected by this, but the Guard Force at my place of work are pretty annoyed...

Might be a legislation thing?

Phil

Hi all how do you manually download, i got my car last week and havent seen anything automatically saying system update. Ive looked trough all the setting but can only see current software version

Another minor annoyance........traffic report comes on, I want to listen carefully so nudge the volume up.....which causes the report to cancel and return to the original station. Frustrating.

Sorry if this has been discussed before but how do you get it to stay in the mode you select rather than reset to "Normal" mode? Please tell me this is possible! Mine has the sound actuator and aside from being a bit OTT and quite loud, I would find it a lot easier to put up with if it came on WITH the engine, instead it comes on a second or two later which exposes it immediately as ridiculous.

Can I either make the mode default to Individual, or change Normal to not have the sound? I'd be happy to have the sound when sport mode is selected.

RIght now there is no option keep the driving mode in memory, however it can be enabled with most OBD apps. If you don't care about warranty, my advice would be you find someone that uses VCDS to code VAG group cars.

VCDS doesn't work on the Mk4 Octavia yet, they're using an "online gateway" these days.
