Induction Kit

Featured Replies

Evening, im thinking about fitting an induction kit to my car, i would like to know everyones thoughts and opinions to see if its worth the time and money. i've been looking at the K&N 57-0420

I think they're a total waste of money, they don't provide sufficient filtration to protect the engine and they don't increase airflow enough to improve performance.

Kind of the worst of both worlds if you like.

People fit them mainly for the stupid slurping sound they make.

Haha, I won't bother then, better off just keeping the stock air filter then I guess, thank you for your honest opinion

I had a K&N panel filter in my Yaris and to be honest, no big difference! I thought of fitting one to the Fabia but after buying genuine bosch or similar, paper filters so cheap from ECP, CP4L, etc, I wouldn't bother. They are so cheap, easy to swap etc that a nice clean one, once a year, along with the pollen filter, oil and oil filter, suffices!

Its all dependant on the car & engine, If for example you've got a fabia engine with no leeway for extra power and your trying to push more horses out an engine between 50-70bhp by sticking a huge filter on it then of course your not going to notice any particular gains or noticeable gains.

Run any sort of decent power and want to go further than stage 1 and there's not many company's  that will advise a remap of  the car without an upgraded filter. At peak rpm you will be strangling the car of air and eventually causing misfires. I've experienced this filter vs non filter on Audi's, Mazda's, Honda's and the Fabia hot hatches over the years and stick by my guns that they are beneficial, Its simply too large a market for it to be classed as fraud.

As for heat soak, You would be referring to a cone filter. There are many other options available if you worried about heat soak.

Looks bloody pricy for something they can't even be bothered to take a decent picture of on their own website.

£120 for an air filter? 🤣

i know that was what through me off in the first place hahaha

Would not recommend K&N, numerous MAF sensors ****ed over the years because they over oil the filters and the engine just sucks the oil in and onto the MAF

No need for a k & n, The old cave engines do that on Their own 😃
