I have also been told that High Beam Assist is only available with full matrix LED Headlights. Seems strange to me when the sensor is there.

My understanding of full matrix LED headlights is that they use the sensor(s) to automatically adjust the beam pattern (my turning on/off elements in the LED matrix) taking into account oncoming traffic and traffic ahead - which would mean that HBA has no meaning/relevance with full matrix LED headlights.

But HBA works on the Halogen and Bi-Xenon headlights on the Octavia 3, so there's no apparent technical reason why it shouldn't be possible on the Octavia IV.

Maybe this is another example of upselling?

I agree with BigPauly37 as regards to the version of software as per photo attached but with regard to the Ambient Lighting, this has been present, I can remember going through the various options and settling for Skoda as opposed to other variations on offer.

Interestingly on mine the details Display Unit Hardware & Software as 'Unknown' !!!!!!

Totally agree with you we had a 2013 Elegance and then a 2016 SE L both with standard lighting and both with HBA which along with everything else worked perfectly for the duration of our ownership without any issues whatsoever.

I would also suggest that it should be available as standard on the Mk4 version or is it just another omission by Skoda.  Put it all together this version is by far not the complete package and certainly not up to the standard in the marketing blurb!!!  Very disappointing so far especially as Skoda are not showing any evidence of taking ownership of our issues with a view to rectification.  Surely this site is closely monitored by their Customer Services?

I too don’t have the the clock in the centre of the digital dash and ours is a 70 plate. Do you have the units issue with not being able to change the mpg and miles?

wondering what your software settings are?

I too had this airbag error prior to my car going in for the updates and the seatbelt warning light even though the wife was sitting with the belt on. Got the wife to film it and the comment back from the technician was that it was because the passenger airbag was switched off. This has been turned off since we picked up the car as I have never touched it and we have never had the error before.

seems I also have the over active voice commands since returning from the garage too

When I asked the Service Advisor she just said that the Technician hadn't stated anything further and he had left!!  I took it to be the Indicator Switch multi selector but who lnows?

also with your issue 8 its not a concept image most of us have it lmao, they talk out there arse dont they, i did notice the 20 plate dont have clock and 70 plate does not sure if thats 100% correct but just what ive noticed

The problem is that whether it is a 20 or 70 plate is likely to be irrelevant as it is the build date/version which will define what is included but normally we could expect to be updated to the latest/best version surely.

Mine did this after it had been into the garage for the fixes and then there was another update to do straight away

I very much doubt it, things that are actively discussed on here are often said by Skoda CS to be "not a common problem"

I agree. The simplistic beam on or dipped worked very well. If they can't get the matrix LED high beam assist to work properly then go back to the simple way.

Like many things the software has been introduced when not fully tested and ready ... and we're left to find out what works and what doesn't.

Matmacka,

Just been out to check details on System Information.

Device part number 5E303816 (yours has a 'B' at the end)

Display unit/control panel hardware: Unknown (yours has H44)

Display unit/control panel software: Unknown (yours has 2008)

All other info is the same.

Just checked System Information.

Everything is the same as your car apart from Navigation database: 20.11

Also checked it against Matmackas and there are a few differences shown. (Have posted on here)

Thanks - it's all very strange and certainly implies there is no version control evident!!

Re High Beam Assist (HBA). Ihad a telephone call from Skoda Customer Services UK regarding this issue. They have told me that the facility has been withdrawn for the time being as it requires further testing for UK models.

My model is SE L First Edition but nobody can tell me whether HBA is standard on the version or is an extra or is only available with Full Matrix LED lights. Confusion seems to reign!

If the facility has been withdrawn why don't Skoda tell everyone. They have all our details ....

Agree entirely with above.

I have just received call from Skoda Customer Care asking for details of my numerous issues (despite having reported them on 8th Dec!!) but guy said let me have the list with screen shots etc and he would look at them with a view to rectification.  Maybe we are starting to get somewhere at long last?

Also speaking a a very helpful tech guy at my supplying dealership he confirmed that the following issues should be rectified by the replacement of the DSG Gear Control Lever:

1:     Front assist, intermittently ‘not available’

2:   Rear traffic assist, intermittently not available

3:

3:

The response from you re: HBA is encouraging.  Lets hope they move that forward also.

  • 2 weeks later...

I had a call from Skoda this afternoon and was told that there's "a new campaign" which should lead to cars (including mine) being taken into the garage to get an update to address the issue. Hopefully it'll address the other gremlins I've got as it's all getting a bit tiresome now.

Well done.  It looks like you are getting a more positive response than I have achieved.  If possible can you get details of the 'campaign' identifier please, it would be a great help

Thanks,

Thanks for that, haven't heard anything from dealership/Skoda UK, don't know if they are closed due to the lockdown.
