About to pull the Trigger - 1.5 TSI Kodiaq SE L

Ello All,

Long time lurker :p

I was meant to be getting a lease Kodiaq at the beginning of the year and that fell thru.

Ended up "buying" a Ford, thats now been rejected and Im back after a kodiaq

So about to pull the trigger, any advice over the spec?

1.5 TSI SEL Kodiaq 7 Seat

Meteor Grey

With the following:

Additional equipment included in price
Waste bin in door panel
£30
Temporary steel space saver spare wheel with tool kit and jack (145/85 R18)
£155
Electrically operated boot with Kick activation (Virtual Pedal)
£210
Electrically folding towbar with adaptor
£890
Heated windscreen with heated windscreen washer nozzles
£345
Virtual Cockpit - 10.25" digital display
£470
Manual roller blinds for rear windows
£205
Black roof headlining
£0
Rear view camera with full LED rear lights
£405
Personalisation of drive mode selection
£45
Panoramic sunroof
£1,205
High beam assist
£205
Folding tables on the front seat backrests
£130
Leather - Black
£350
Family pack - Kodiaq
£180
LED Interior Light pack - Kodiaq SE L / Edition
£205
Rough Road pack - Kodiaq

£305

the Price I've been given is £28,573 and I must say Im mighty tempted to click the go ahead button

Am I right in believing that as Ice added Personalisation of drive mode selection that this will mean an extra key (only reason for grabbing it tbh) as the car includes drive mode select anyway.

Why Does Adding the space saver wheel remove the variable boot floor? I thought the spare went under the middle row?

Is there anything that should be added that may mean I can just add other bits by VCDS coding in the future? (Or anything I can remove that can be coded later)

Im gonna ask for the additional 5Yr Warranty (650 I think)  as it doesnt show on carwow

The other Bit Im not sure on is the Chrome pack included with the SEL - Im having trouble finding what it actually includes.

But against the meteor Grey Im thinking Im gonna prefer black.

Any pointers or advice welcome :)

Cheers chaps and heres hoping I can get this ordered within the next few days

Wayne

the only thing i wouldnt have, is the glass roof, later down the road, years from now obviously, it will leak, and its not unknown for them to randomly crack/shatter whilst driving, not specifically on this model but its happened on a few other models in the past, plus i dont think its worth the cost either

I would add adaptive cruise if possible but otherwise nice spec. I wouldn’t be fussed about the panoramic sunroof, I had an X-Trail for 10 years with one with no leaks. No problems with my 2017 Kodiaq either. As long as you make sure the dealer checks the seals and drain lines when servicing there should be no problem.

Chrome pack is chrome window trim and roof rails if I’m not mistaken. I think SEL should come with chrome window trim as standard though. With light assist you should be able to code Lane Assist but with MY21 there might be a new camera which won’t accept such coding.

Strangely getting the things on the Main Dealers Service Menu checked is hit or miss let alone having things that are not included done.

Wheels off to check brakes.  That will be chocolate!

They tell you want the 'Extended Scope Inspection' involves and just repeat some of what is in the Oil Service & Inspection.

Traffic sign recognition worth adding for the 90 quid? Will that add a psychical camera that can then allow coding of other bits and bobs?

Had ACC in a Golf GTI that was provided as a courtesy car, not for me lol

Traffic sign recognition and auto high beams use the same camera so you can save by getting the cheaper one then coding. But do be warned that you might not be able to code it in for a MY21 as there may be a new driver assist camera that’s locked down unlike previous years

The family pack includes rear window blinds and waste bin, so you could omit them from your list.

As above, after suffering a leaking sunroof in my previous Yeti, I would never spec a sunroof ever again.

The standard Alcantara seats are better than paying for leather.

Sorry for the confusion, but in your post on another site you priced items individually including waste bin £30 and rear blinds £205 both of which are included in the family pack for £180.

Why the Rough Road pack?  Unless you live along a farm track, don't see why you need this.

Whilst it looks like something that would be a pretty easy DIY fit I've not been able to source it anywhere so for the negligible cost seemed sensible to help protect the undercarriage.

I have very similar with a few less extras.

I have never used a spare wheel in 25 years and approx 500,000 miles so decided not to bother this time.

I have the leather, but it’s probably not worth It, I wish I hadn’t bothered.
I don’t have the panoramic roof, had one in previous car, never even opened the blind, waster of time for me.

I do have a DSG gearbox, it’s brilliant.   I’ve always had manuals before, but after having this DSG I will never have a manual again.   I  would get a DSG over and above a lot of the add ons.

Did you go for it.

When I went in to the dealer after doing carwow, the dealer went through and sorted out what options I really wanted and what was included in different packs.

Waiting until December for delivery now.

Not sure if that was for me but I did carwow and went to the dealer from carwow that offered the options I wanted at a good discount.

Then the dealer went through the options, we changed a few and then the dealer came back with a new offer which we took.

Picked ours up on Saturday but the travel assist is not working correctly so has to go back in to be fixed. But everything else seems good so far.

Still trying to work out how everything works, but love it so far.

Picked mine up the day, was fearing I'd not like the back but it looks smart.

The kids absolutely love it haha, it was missing the family pack, and the seat back tables, rear side airbags and the internal leds.

Tables sorted, child locks will just use the manual ones haha, side airbags were just gonna upgrade the bairns seats and the internal leds are easily sorted with a kit.

2021 I believe 2 spoke steering wheel, wireless charging and USB c

First upgrade is gonna be running boards.

Been quoted 940 fitted from local skoda dealer, that a decent price?
