@wirer is the parking module under the passenger side? best to remove glove box?

I have only gone and ordered the wrong PDC switch :(

Mine is the UK RHD so needs 6V2927238E instead of the 6V1927238E :dull:

Oh bother, if you ordered it in new from your local Skoda dealership, they will normally take it back and charge a handling charge and order in the correct one.

I know this because I got my local VW parts place to order me in a pair of TREs for my wife's 2002 Polo back in 2006/7 - they trusted me as I normally just handed them part numbers as opposed to asking for a "y" for a 2002 Polo, unfortunately, I had picked the section in the parts listing for Polo without power steering - I never made that mistake again, lesson learned!

@wirer Since my car is RHD and my harness runs on the driver side to the engine compartment as shown in the picture will I need to connect it to the sensor harness from the passenger side?
In your tutorial you connect from passenger side.

I received my sensor holders from AutoDoc today and they are aftermarket ones. However apart from being labeled 1,2,3,4 I am not sure which way they are meant to on the bumper?

@wirer can you help please?

fabia_pdc_sensor_holder.jpg

Holder must have part number:

6V0 919 485 – left out

6V0 919 485 A – left in

6V0 919 486 A – right in

6V0 919 486 – right out

018.thumb.jpg.de7e4f257a09b73fe3c668f6a5d62118.jpg

The right / left side is determined in the direction of travel

I have left-hand drive and I have cables on the left side

Cables for the engine compartment should be stored on the driver's side - where there is also a wiper motor

Mine don't have part numbers unfortunately.

OK so is this layout correct? Are sensors 4,3,2,1 layout correct?

Plug in, code and test. If, on the other hand, you only swap the pin in the control unit connector. I never hooked up an English car.

Holders for sensors according to the photo. Each holder has a different "cutout". The cut-outs also show the cut-outs and turn the parking sensors according to the photo.

Btw, if only the original holders, at least in small print they should be marked

Thanks @wirer for the help :) I will be working on the bumper this evening so yes by testing I should be able to find out.

I am still waiting on switch so hopefully be able to test the front parking sensors?

I didn't try it without buttons. I still had them involved

I think if I put the car in reverse the front should be activated

I will let you know my findings

@wirer Ok did a dummy fit of the front sensors and hooked up VCDS and copied the coding as mentioned in Tutorial.

The infotainment display for the parking has disappeared :( getting following errors:

Looks like module is working well with 3 sensors in rear

@wirer Looks like I need new DataSet for the module :( VCDS cannot do it. One guy local to me with ODIS charging £100 to reflash the module.

Should I look for a Skoda module? I found one on Ebay 5Q0919294K which is from a 2016 Fabia.

  • Author

Well just to update, I finished installing the front sensors and put everything back together. The front sensors are working flawlessly as if it came standard from factory.

I got shocking quotation from local ODIS users here to reprogram my PDC module as it came from a 2015 Golf and it would require re-parameterising to Skoda i.e. new DataSet. VCDS unfortunately cannot do this and would require either VCP or ODIS. Think I am going to invest in VCP for future use.

Anyhow to save money on the build I have bought a 8K module which came from a 2016 Skoda Fabia so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will work out of the box and if needed easily adapted with VCDS.

Will keep you all posted!!!!

playing SW makes me familiar, but the price is definitely lower than yours. but it probably depends on each individual.

the front is connected correctly, otherwise it would also report an error at the front and display an exclamation mark (!)

you can only solve the error with the parking brake with another dataset

RTA - rear traffic allert is part of BSD - blind spot detect - blind spot sensor. I have added it too, instructions are on the web
