Map update - can I use EC1 2020/2021 instead of EC1 2018?

Featured Replies

I have a 2015 Octavia.  The sat nav version showing on screen is EC1 2018 and I want to update it.  The Skoda SD card is 14Gb.  I don't need more than UK and France so it would seem sensible to go for the EC1 2020/2021 file at 6GB, rather than the EC1 2018 one which is 12Gb, especially as I have a slow internet connection.

Will that work?  I plan to copy the existing files off the SD card (and pop them on my PC as a backup!)  Can I just load the 2020/2021 version, or must I go for the larger all-Europe 2018 version again?

Thanks for any advice.

Helen

I have a 2015 Octavia with a MIB1 Amundsen, I update the maps every 6 months so I'm currently running the 2020/2021 maps - and will update to the 2021 maps as soon as they become available.
