Wiper Blades

Featured Replies

Unless you show your location in your profile we will never know.

I bought blade refills for my MkII for the past 10 years from a VW garage. They are overlength and need cutting to size. Much cheaper and "environmentally" friendly. Anyone know if this can be done with the MKIII ?

And which brand was it?

OEM is not a brand, vw and skoda are not producing wipers, mine SWF first fitment lasted 2 years with no remark. In skoda dealerships they are selling rebagged wipers so maybe they are good, maybe rubbish. I didn't say buy OEM, I said buy SWF in car part shop if you want decent wipers, avoid being ripped off in dealerships.

I know OEM is not a brand - that's what they they'll give you if you go to a dealership for them. They could be one of a number of brands made to their spec (& possibly rebranded). Ones things for certain - they won't be as good as Bosch and they'll be considerably more expensive

Interestingly some of the best and longest lasting wipers I've had, including Bosch ones, were from Aldi.  They lasted longer and wiped better and quieter than anything else but I've not seen them for years

If you want other options:

Looked online for SWF. Noticed most/many sites selling them said they were for LH drive, is this an issue?

For you guys with RH drive, is your driving side wiper blade longer? I don't see a reason for a difference in blades itself, only where you will fit longer and where shorter blade.

I use wiperblades.co.uk for all my wiper blade needs, have done so for every car I've owned for the past 10 years or so. Very good prices and quick delivery

Just fitted 3 Bosch blades to my Octavia3. £31 in total from wiper blades.co.uk. Ditto to SWMBO Kia Picanto. Price was the same.

Me too (part number 1KO 955 429 IIRC), love to find out if they are compatible with Octy Mk3 or if there's a newer part number available.

Unfortunately I doubt VW will be advertising it too much 🙂

Original front wipers on my Superb juddered badly on the way up and rear (estate) wiper made a horrible noise in both directions. After reading this thread I fitted Bosch Aero A864S on the front and Bosch A 403H on the rear, all noise and judder gone, so much clearer. I looked up the right blades on the Bosch website and purchased from Bosch on Amazon.

Should of replaced when I first got the car rather than waiting for a few months thinking they would change.
