The word ‘Battery’ appeared on display when ignition switched on Skoda Fabia (2013)

Featured Replies

Like a lot of people I haven’t been driving my Skoda Fabia (2013) much but I have driven it at least once a week. Today as I switched the ignition on the word ‘battery’ flashed on then off on the display. Not the battery warning light, just the word ‘battery’. Is it trying to tell me it needs a bit more charging due to not being used as much? I doubt I need a new battery as this one is only 2 years old.

I think you have a Skoda Fabia II if it is a 2013.

I have known of a battery to die after 6 months on a brand new car due to lack of use.

We have had many cars with battery flat problems this year at work.

So, Yes charge it ( with a Smart Charger ) .

Thanks, AG Falco

Thanks a lot for the advice.

Just a thought. Does "battery" refer to the one in the key-fob? It is known on here that they don't last very long. However I'm not sure if it's only cars with keyless (push button) start though.
