WARNING TO ALL

Featured Replies

After looking about how to fix for many different problems with your Skoda or VW and tried to find a reasonable answer and solving problem within forums, google search, videos, etc. I had noticed that most of people who wants to try help you with the direct problem are just guessing and wondering what would be, when someone ask for a straight answer and solutions, please give it. What you have done in the process, expose the problem, identify it and the steps you took to solve it.

Also, many started an issue and never have the time to reply back to the people that gives you the best solutions and let them know if the problem was fixed according to their outputs, and not guess. When you are starting to tell people that it may be this, you may need to replace that. Guess what, not many people can afford changing things that does not solve it. Besides with this 2020 cash is very limited for someone who wants to have his or her car running well, without spending thousands at a dealer or dishonest garage or mechanic that does not even know what the hell is going on.

Please, make sure you come up with the right solution depending on your experience of the problem, and tell what you did to solve the problem once and for all.

Thanks for reading and Happy Holidays to everyone around this world. Be safe and take care of your love ones.

Sometimes it's trial and error, and a process of elimination exactly the same with a pc. Mechanics in my experience have gave me false information in the past, I don't trust any of them because of this anymore, it's a shame because I bet there are some great honest ones out there, I'm yet to find one, do you really know if they replaced that part if you didn't see them do it with your own eyes? I was quoted £600 by a local highly rated garage on Google to change a clutch, with the kit costing about £60 pounds.

None of us have got money to waste of replacing parts that aren't faulty, but sometimes it's a way of saying, well it's not that then, and at least you know that part is new and should last.

Perhaps @lalwongwants to be a moderator because they like to issue warnings. I understand his point and I try to give advice based upon my personal experiences.

okay, i thought from the title this was going to be about some dodgy back street garage defrauding people by claiming to do work that isnt done, or some such thing.

i still dont see what the warning is? if someone cant by internet magic instantly diagnose an issue from a description like "its making a strange noise when i do 'x' " are you going to come to their house and slash their tyres?? thats seems abit extreme.

cars are complex. an issue can give a symptom that isnt easily related to the cause. eg my front window wipers wouldnt turn off on my old mk1 octy because of water ingress in the rear wash motor. the rear wiper and wash worked perfectly.... and the front end was fine on its own, but with both fuses in the back was grand and the front wouldnt stop. is that a directly related issue? nope. so it could take several examinations and tests to track it back to the cause in front the car nevermind over the internet.

bit unnecessary to give out to everyone for not being magicians...

Just a note, the OP is from Panama which is a Spanish speaking country so there may have been something lost in translation or the OP may not have found the most appropriate way to put his/ her points across.
I can do that myself and English is my first language :D

Thanks for your attention in trying to get help from expert guys like yourselves.

It does not matter which IP or country you are from. All that I am saying is get the most relevant information to people who are experiencing any problem and follow up. And if you fixed the problem, please share it and reply to the treat.

It does help when an OP does say where the vehicle being asked about is, or where used, simply because there are differences globally in the environment, temperatures. then the models sold their, drive trains and fuels.

If reading a post on a phone members might not even see the car model, engine, country etc.

Don't park near Jack Grealish when he gets his licence back because judging by his careless driving in a car park at 98mph on his way to training your pride and joy will suffer from it's close encounter with his Range Rovers.

how is that in any way remotely relevant???

Careful now, mac. Marking unhelpful posts as unhelpful is considered bullying by @shyVRS245:D

The post may well be relevant to the title but has absolutely nothing to do with the thread! :shake:

Some people have problems with their cars, others have problems that are even more difficult to solve.

The Title seems nothing to do with the OP.

^ Good observation.

When I first saw the Thread Title I expected a warning not to buy a Skoda TBH.

Must've been a big car park.

More OT or not OT,

but not sure where the 98 mph in the car park came from.  But he was spotted @ 98 mph..... Obviously you need more than just being spotted and recorded on a calibrated device doing 98 mph so he was 'clocked' doing 98 mph.

Aston Villa and England Footballer who has a problem remembering not to visit his mates during lockdown. Also can't seem to exit a car park without hitting stationary vehicles and Police followed him at 98mph on the Motorway bullying other motorists in a Range Rover. Got a driving ban and £80,000 fine.
