Hello, is there known improvements with update 0421 to 0490 ? I have O3 with bolero infotainment. Sometimes it is lagging when I use mp3 audio from sd card. Anyone knows that update to 0490 could fix this problem ?

I have question about size of update. My bolero mib1 doesn't have NAV function. I have download 0490 update but it's size is about 5 GB after unpack from 7z/zip. Have I downloaded accurate version ? In my case I need only to update main firmware without maps etc. Thank you in advance.

Update succes. Ignition on, engine off, charger connected. Estimated time of update is 20 minutes via 8 gb fat32 pendrive.

Download FW https://easyupload.io/p9xaox MSTD_EU_SK_P6230 (0490) 

Unpack archive to sd card or pendrive (min 8 GB) fat32 file system 

Unpack files directly to root folder of mass storage so the car could see it

Prepare charger for battery in your car

Connect charger so battery will not lose voltage when update will proceed 

Turn ignition on, engine off

Press menu button for about 3-5 sec

Get into service menu

Choose right mass storage usb/sd card

Follow instructions

DONT'T turn ignition off while update

All at your own risk - there is small risk that you can brick your unit

Update on this.

- I long-pressed on the menu button, which gave me access to the Service menu.

- Then I got the SW Train and put it into mib-helper.com.

- The website informed me that the latest compatible update was 0490, so I got that installed. It seems to work with no issues.

- I was a bit skeptical at first to perform the install as I saw rumblings of a possible `DTC 1555 / B201A` error, but my system did not have that.

- So, In summary, everything works great. I hope this helps If anybody else want to do this.

 

Some questions though.

I saw somewhere about a SmartLink function, is it not supported on this model of MQB? I was half expecting to see something after the update, but nope.
