USB ports current?

Featured Replies

Anyone knows how much amps the USB-C ports give?

Are the (optional) ports at the back the same as the front?

I did not find this information in the manual.

The back ports are for charging only, the front are charging and media, no idea on amps

Yeah, I am interested in knowing the amps too,as my S20fe is having a real hard time charging when plugged in, it barely gains 10% per hour. And wandering how to solve this issue.

I checked a few cables, including original and to no avail

Put an app like accubattery on the phone and monitor charging time / current. sounds like the max charging current is pretty low. Not sure how you would fix that.  Maybe plumb your own connection, or the wiring back from the ports, but seems a bit out of expectation with a new car!

At 15w it should be a bit more than 1.5 hours full charge. so that is 15 min 10%.

Of coure adaptive fast charge will be up to 45w and that is 3 x as quick.

10% in 1 hour on a 4500mah cell pack seems very slow indeed. Should be about 15 min even on non adaptive charging...

I just tested the front USB-C port with a phone and the Amperes Lite app (it gives good estimates with most chargers) and it is about 17W, while the phone supports 18W (USB-PD standard).

So it has at least 18W (the current itself is not informative, as the voltage also changes).
