Things are bound to change when there is a Pandemic and especially in a country where the numbers with it are high.

Things can change without much notice.

Looks like the factories closing decision happened the day AFTER I spoke to Skoda. 🤣🤣🤦🏻‍♂️

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

I will be rude here, please get your eyes checked, before post wrong information. People are waiting their cars, lets not make their wait worse.

@janis   I posted a Skoda Official website.   Did they post a later update?

& did Skoda not close the plant after all?

as my dealer said, they workin 2 shifts to deliver us our cars, nothing is getting closed, that was last years post

@janis

Ahh sorry.  I understand now.

Yes i lost a year someplace.     Still applies though, things are liable to change since there is a pandemic.

People waiting on cars and Skoda upping production maybe.   For once a positive with covid.

Everyone is saying we live in information era, I say now we live in disinformation era, media is tool to control crowd, people get paid to write BS and share it.
That being said i cant blame you, filtering information gets annoying real fast.

Thank you @janis much appreciated.
Maybe I wait a little longer for some news on my car.
e-Roottoot no problem my friend, the lack of anything specific or detailed from Skoda sends us running for any piece of info we can find.
Have a great weekend all, I’m giving these pages a break for a couple of days to preserve what is left of my sanity. 🤪

Im currently waiting a build date for a new Superb, my dealer has today confirmed the factories are indeed closed until at least mid April 2021 due to Covid 19.

Not sure if anyone has a definitive answer to this, but speaking to Skoda earlier re still no build date allocation, and decided to ask them when my order showed on the system.
They said 10th February. However, I signed my paperwork with the dealer on 29th January, a full week and a half earlier!!
Does anyone know if this is standard and just the way things are, or like me, would you expect that if you sign your paperwork to place your order on the 29th January, your order would be showing up on the Skoda system on that day? Or at the very latest the within a couple of days?

If anyone has any first hand experience of these timelines, I’d be very grateful if you shared them.

Cheers.

I did the paperwork and sent a small deposit to the dealer, for an iV Estate, on the 24th February, and car was ordered/submitted to the system on the 26th.
Then I got a build date on the 10th of March, 2 weeks after my initial order request.

I did everything remotely with the sales person of the dealer (I’m in Portugal).

Thanks mate, that’s what I would imagine the timelines would be like.
Think my dealer may have some questions to answer. 😕

I think it's tricky @Skodev comparing different countries and markets, as @DManel is not UK based like you or me. I know it would be great to get a car as quick as he describes, but it also helps to be a bit cynical. There might be targets to meet certain deadlines or timescales in certain markets that we know nothing about.

For e.g. I similar to you popped my deposit down on 16th Feb and received my order confirmed email from Skoda on 22nd Feb. Why it took 6 days for this, 1.5 weeks for you and 2 days for @DManel will likely remain a mystery; similar to why our build weeks are way off in the future. We just have to try and be patient/extend PCP if required/get a stop gap banger or get on your bike!

This is really funny, since all cars come from same country.

Mod decision

@janis  People get told stuff by salespeople at Dealerships and much can by rubbish, or as you seem to get, the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Then there are Motor Trade Publications that publish stuff.    It is a question of believing what you want to, or maybe triple checking.

Yeah I know mate. I’m feeling more philosophical about it as my current lease co have now agreed to an informal lease extension capped at 6 months, when previous correspondence had only offered fixed term 6 or 12 month extensions neither of which I wanted to commit to.

So now I can just sit back and see what happens.
However I would still say that one and a half weeks to place an order on the Skoda system is going to take some explaining.

But I need to focus on the things I can influence and stop sweating the stuff beyond my control.

It’s still the car I want, despite scouring the “in stock deals” nothing really ticks as many boxes for me, so I’ll be patient and await news of my Build Week.

@e-Roottoot indeed the delays have many layers, with so many factors to link in.

strange days indeed. ✌🏼

Just got notification that my order has been accepted by the factory today , i ordered it on 1st March, so 4 weeks to appear on Skoda's system !!  my Last order took 2 days.

Got an update from my dealer today.

Car is to be built week 18(April 26th) and without any delays should be in Ireland end of May start of June, so looking at about 13 weeks in total from ordering, and I included ~€3k of optional extras on the car which I thought would have a knock on effect but seems to be no hold ups.

Great news mate. 13 weeks is a right result in current climate. 👍🏼👍🏼

Hello Drivers

I order of Octavia Ambition 2.0tdi 150 manual gearbox at beginning of February, unfortunately there were none in stock in this spec so i go ahead with factory order.

After reading multiple articles and forums my hope of getting the car in reasonable time fade out and i start to thinking to buy stock one 2.0tdi 150 style with dsg great spec but my wallet would bleed to death :)

Great news come yesterday, build is set up in week 16, and same as user SkodaCB car should be in Ireland end of May start of June. So if i get the car end of may is not that bad waiting time, hopefully nothing goes wrong

My last car i bought was nissan pulsar 2017 assembly in Spain, and i was waiting exactly 3 months for the car. Collection was great because i pick up the car on my birthday :)

I got an update from my dealer this week, I finally have a build week: week 27 although he expects that to come forward shortly. I ordered week 2 and was expecting about a 10 week wait. I'm not sure I can wait 'til July I may have to think of an alternative (currently driving the in-laws 2nd car since mine was returned last week)...

Hello everyone and regards from Romania. Skoda Octavia Style with some extras was orderd 2 weeks ago. Today got confirmation that the car will arrive at  the dealer during first week of July, maybe even a bit early.

inquired my dealer today if my car is being built this week as it had this week allocated, they confirmed,.

as well asked another dealer to see what are delivery times now and if factories are open, they said factories are 100% open but delivery time is up to 9 months, because of some components being built somewhere else, my guess, chips in China.

this is for hose who believes every source in internet.

Some great results being seen in the last few days and also some very long timelines estimates at the same time.
Keep the updates coming chaps as it does help when reading that cara are being built / delivered. 👍🏼👍🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Hey guys - I ordered my Octavia RS on 11. March, I checked with my dealer today and the build date is second part of August.....
