Delivery times?

I stand corrected if you know something for sure, but let us know also.
What's the connection? How are those countries involved in the production? I really have no knowledge of their involvement in the process.

Well the reuters say, that - ,,PRAGUE, March 1 Czech carmaker Skoda Auto, part of Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE), will limit some production at its domestic plants due to supply shortages after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, while it said its Russian operations were still running."

Odessa produces 67% of the purified neon gas in the world. It's used in lasers to make semiconductors.

Agreed, but the Source you indicated also clearly mentioned:
"This is the reason why we will limit production of the ENYAQ iV from this week on."

There are Skoda factories in Russia:

and in Ukraine:

but the Octavias we are all waiting for come from Mlada Boleslav.

Not really...
There's at least one situation I read about on this very topic (can't remember the User...) where the price of the car was changed. And by "changed" I mean "increased".

Sure, let's make an imagination effort and try to figure out ourselves what parts for Octavia would be coming from either Ukraine or Russia...
I'm afraid it's just one more reason they can blame for the delays that are already over the roof. There are people here who ordered their cars 1 year ago, when the waiting time was much shorter than 1y - and they are still waiting for the car.

You enter into a contract which in the EU (or anywhere that has up until recently been bound by EU laws) means that changes require consent of both parties otherwise it is null and void.

I'd be more than happy for you to be wright, but as I said - I know several cases where the prices went up. Here's one of those (it took me to quite a while to find it):

It would be great if the prices were really fixed, because with the current situation it can only go up (if it is allowed to change). I was really paying attention and read the Contract word-by-word; I couldn't find any paragraph stating the two sides need to agree before any price modification.
However, there's one article empowering the dealer to declare unilaterally "impossibility to deliver the car" for various reasons. So it becomes quite simple: they tell you due to market changes and production costs the price went up; if you do not agree they can invoke the "impossibility to deliver the car" at the price stipulated in the Contract. It is the kind of "take it or leave it" offer. If you don't buy it, they will sell it quite fast at an even higher price - since stock  cars are very scarce.

Yeah my dealer (Finland) said that Russian Skoda factories don't do cars for european market. Since it should not affect.

Ordered mid July 2021, apparently was built 2 weeks ago, now waiting for a ship to get it to NZ - ETA end of May 2022.

From memory (its been a while):
RS Wagon, sunroof, canton, "RS plus pack" - DCC, 19" wheels and sports exhaust. (which I haven't seen as an option but will see).

According to the system  there is no discount required as car is as ordered.

Finally Skoda called me about the fire. They are admitting that they don't have a "plan B" supplier for those parts and to expect further delays. What's most important, they stated that they understand if we're unable to wait that they are ready to return the deposit in full. I paid for the new Mazda 3 sedan yesterday, I'm expecting it by the end of the week, worst case scenario early next week. If not for you guys I would still be waiting and in the dark. I've been waiting for 5 1/2 months, I'm done. I'll stick around to check what's going on with you guys. Skoda, right car, wrong time.

Glad you have something else delivered as it is indeed a ****show. I wish we went with BMW or bought a stock car right away. Next car will most probably be a BMW.

Gz on the new car. Bad news for us who are still waiting - or a kick in the … to start looking for other options / stock cars. Worst timing ever, 1st time buying a new car for myself (after a few flops with used ones, hence new this time). No news from my dealer though, they always say let’s wait some 2 weeks and we’ll see how it goes, and weeks just fly by…

Got 330 days left on my car, now looking tentatively at a Focus ST instead.

But not sure about the quality or reliability. Also thinking about a BMW 128Ti, but there's a few things on that that I want but can't get like heated windscreen.

There is a big difference between few more weeks and much more months. Few more weeks people can forgive. :)

Not the point I was making.

Stop guessing about the delivery times :) Nothing is real until the car is sitting at the dealer.

Same thing with many electronic products. Just waiting for them to arrive. Nobody knows when something is delivered.

Exactly.

Has anyone ordered an Octavia recently? I placed my order in November 2021 and, to date, I have nothing more than an order number and an estimated delivery date of 01.May 2022. Seems to me I should at least have had something more from Skoda. My dealer has no idea and a chat with Skoda online basically pointed me back to the dealer.

Of course, I know the production rate is much slower than normal for all sorts of reasons, but I'm just trying to get a rough idea of how long it has taken others to get production and/or delivery dates. (Attached to the Forces and returning at the end of the year/early next year - need to keep the car outside the UK for 6 months)

Thanks everyone.

I would check with your local Ford dealer. I was told last week when I asked the question about lead times on the ST that the Focus and Fiesta are currently unavailable for order.

I had a look at Hyundai N30, Focus ST, Golf GTi, BMW 135 and found all lacking in some way or another.

So I went to Lookers at Peasmarsh and discussed having another RS, for the simple reason that I can't find anything that I like with the same level of equipment as my current car, for a similar price.

Will be doing further discussions about an new RS on March 19th.

I’m coming from an M135i to the Octavia VRS Estate for space reasons due to a new family member. My wife and I both had new style 1 series and thought they would be plenty big but the boot space in the BMW was next to useless for pram wheels plus anything else. Maybe the wheels are too big but we have to fill the back seats if we go shopping with the baby. As soon as I tested the pram in the VRS I knew I needed one due to its endless amounts of space.

I loved the M135i but the VRS ticks all the boxes for me to cover family life and still be able to have some fun.

I have ordered octavia in the end of the August (just checked the paperwork) and the dealer said i wont get it till summer, however i feel that likely i wont get it this year. so I think that you will get your car in beggining of 2023, no chance you will get it in May, i hope i'm wrong but that's the reality. The friend of mine ordered Octavia in the 2021 May and still waiting, the dealer told him, that if he is lucky, he will get it in May, so that makes atleast 12 months delivery.

My friend ordered 2 months after me (I ordered end of August like you). He is already driving the car, so.... :)
