  • Well 13.5 months waiting and I finally collected my Octy Estate vRS yesterday. I couldn't be happier  👍😀

  • After 13 months waiting my SEL iV Plug in Hybrid arrived.    All seems good with it so far, just to understand some of the infotainment features!

  • Just took delivery of mine but had to cancel some of the optional extras

Hi. I’m new to the forum and wanted to ask a quick question. I have ordered a Skoda Octavia Estate IV SE Technology in solid blue. No optional extras. I ordered January 2022 and have been given a delivery date of June 2023 approx. Is this right? Anyone else any experience with a similar order?

First let me welcome you to the waiting club in hell. What you describe is about right.

Here please input your order info and check for similar orders:

Many thanks for this. It appears it’s going to be a loooong wait. I was gobsmacked when I was told this as my last company car took 12 weeks from order to delivery. I thought that was long 😂

Things have changed. Factory is getting back from holidays after this week. I believe the times might shorten, but for now they are selling more realistic delivery times than before.

June is a long wait, but there is no updates on parts shortage. I guess they've just thrown a long waiting time since after this week cars will be MY23 and are uncertain on what will change.

Hey everybody, a bit of an update from my end.

I reached out to the Škoda global HQ, and—long story short—the car I ordered at the end of August does not have any sort of manufacture date set. I have been told that "the preliminary plan is 2023." Something, something, missing chips, Ukraine war, etc.

This means that even when 2023 comes around, it could be January, June, or December of that year. I am legitimately disgusted by Škoda and their penny-pinching ways. I am truly at a loss for words.

I sincerely hope that everybody else is more fortunate than I with their orders.

Sorry for the spam, but I'm unable to edit the order spreadsheet—if somebody could please add the info for me, I'd appreciate it!

Done!
I added the date of your order from the top of my head... you mentioned above it was ordered End-of-August, so I assumed 30/08/2021.

Also, you could try the link below and see if you can edit: (I think the link above was read-only...)

Thanks a bunch—I went ahead and corrected it via the link you provided (24.8.2021).

Proud to be a member of the Waiting-For-Škoda club with you lovely lot! 😄

Such a coincidence!!! I have a 23/08/2021 order myself!
When we both get our mk4's we should meet and compare the errors of the head-unit and the other electronic gizmos...  😅

Don't be so proud, this club is not at all exclusive! It seems that any humble Skoda-customer from any country has a fair chance to free-membership. (or should I say expensive-membership??? I'm a bit confused...)

Sorry to be bearer of bad news, but it looks like Octavia ordered now will be Q3 in 2023, so allowing for Transport time to UK should expect 12-15 months

That specifically says which parts cause delays. Wonder if that Q3/2023 is the minimum?

I have none of these components or features and yet I am still waiting for my car to be finished since beginning of April. Makes me wonder about those supposedly empty parking lots. Anyway, the excitement is gone 😞

Your's was in production? I'd bet that you should get it.. well.. this year :)

Yep, parked since April. My bet would also be on this year as I already have the VIN number and MY22, maybe as a Christmas present 😉🤬

Looking at the numbers the situation is worse than we would like to believe. At least for us, their profits are still strong.

Here you can also see which cars have the best margin for Skoda, so Enyaq, Superb, Fabia, Kodiaq...

ŠKODA brand deliveries to customers in the first half of 2022

(in units, rounded, listed by model; +/- in per cent compared to previous year):

ŠKODA OCTAVIA (61,000; -49.5%)

ŠKODA KODIAQ (50,600; -21.8%)

ŠKODA KAMIQ (47,200; -36.0%)

ŠKODA FABIA (45,900; -19.0%)

ŠKODA KAROQ (43,000; -43.1%)

ŠKODA SUPERB (33,100; -17.5%)

ŠKODA ENYAQ (22,200; +52.2%)

ŠKODA SCALA (21,300; -23.7%)

ŠKODA KUSHAQ (13,500; –)

ŠKODA RAPID (12,300; -67.5%)

ŠKODA SLAVIA (10,300; –)

In UK now have July car sales figures

Skoda sold 4157 cars (July 2021 was 5196) down 20% on year before

Year to date (Jan-July) 7 months

Skoda 26,962 cars (2021 : 38,102) down 29.24%

I don’t subscribe to SMMT data so can’t check pre-covid 2019 figures , however whole year was 75,200 (per Skoda storyboard on second link) so 7 months would be 43,866 which suggests there are at about 62% of pre covid sales in UK

Fair to say I’ve been watching this topic a lot over the last 14 months.

I’ve had a company car order in since May 2021 for a vrs iv estate. It’s optioned with pano roof, canton and dcc

There’s been a few setbacks along the way, which I’m sure would be familiar to many of you, but the vague updates from the lease company changed a week or two ago to “released from the factory” and added “delay in transit to uk”.

I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but current estimate is for mid Aug.

I expect it will probably be September now, as they commonly like to delay it when there is an imminent number plate change, as i imagine it increases the cars value a little at resale.

i just hope it was built late enough to have the newer infotainment modules etc….

I do really believe that your car should be ready anytime soon!

From your mouth to Škoda’s ears 😉 cheers for being optimistic mate.

Some statistics from Finland. These are new Octavia registrations from this year.

January 226

February 188

March 73

April 19

May 94

June 126

July 137

Total 1-7/22 is 864 Octavias. 1-7/21 was 2888 so its down -70,1%

Congrats, we cancelled Canton about a month ago hoping to get the car sooner

UK sales.  As usual that is VW UK that bought them in lots of cases, there are Demonstrators and Management cars and out to special customers on lease that took models that the general public never ordered or bought.  These are now Used cars up for sale.  Look at demand outstripping supply yet very expensive Enyaq and other Skoda models are sitting waiting for buyers.   Skoda / VW UK are first registering cars as they need to to ensure the Average CO2 figures to save being fined.    'delivered to customers'. That is Dealerships and not necessarily the general buying public.  First Registrations is what matters in a quarter, in a 6 month period, in a year.
