Delivery times?

Featured Replies

Any dealer saying a vague 6 months is probably guessing.

If you ask them to clarify if they saying it will arrive in 26th week then you will probably get a more realistic answer.

Any answers in the at least February format, are probably sales garbage, you need to reverse it and ask for a not later than date, so they can only slip nearer, not later.

If some are being estimated May then probably safer to assume nearer 7 months for orders.

Ordered my Skoda Octavia 1.5 mild hybrid on 6th of August. Still no information about the car. Man if i get it till April 2022, i would be so happy...

Ours is with the dealer. Will be ready next week. Octavia estate 1.5 mhev style + matrix and some other stuff. Lava blue. Order in april.... i hope they get chips soon for the remaining cars

Octavia estate iv SE L (HUD, TA, interior LED, RVC, leather & wireless charging added) on PCH ordered yesterday. My current lease is up in Feb but I have the option of extending it for a further 12 months if needed so a rough guide would be helpful so i know what to apply for but they are being extremely non committal.

I've spoken to many manufacturer dealers the past few weeks and they were all saying feb, VW laughed and said they were filling me with crap as its 6+ months for everyone due to the universal shortage.

Skoda have said they will contact me next week to discuss a date - on the order form they have put "Q1/Q2 22" which gives them til september!

Ordered mine in May for December delivery.  I was told it was delayed by 5 weeks a few months ago and have now been told it will be here early 2022.  My lease car goes back in Feb, if its not here by then do Skoda hire cars out at discounted rates for customers who's orders have been delayed?

Depends if your dealer want to do something about it as you are not the only one probably askign for a rental car 😕 i saw someone had a deal to get it free for one month and then has to pay weekly to use it.  Good luck! Hopefully you can swap it in on time.

My RS iV is ordered on August. Current information is "maybe march 2022". But no real  information.

Ordered mine may 20 latest info is delivery 7/01/2022 .rs estate 4x4 diesel that is the 5th delivery date given to me. so. That is around 31 weeks and no guarantee it will be here by then .they just say you could get it before then or later.surely they must know when each car is going to be built ,I don't like waiting but a bit of truthful information would help.there are people who have cancelled there order but what happens then.?pick another car and go to the back of there  waiting list and are skoda bothered ? No is the answer because they know people would be scrambling for the car you have ordered and put the price up a few thousands pounds.only one winner and it is not the customer.

hi all

I consider myself extremely lucky

I have just replaced my golf gti with an octavia vrs...went to the vw dealer and he said its gonna be a year and theres not even any stock cars to be had if I didnt want a factory order

the garage also has a skoda half...( I have had 3 vrs's before then 3 golf gti's..and I had been thinking about going back anyway as the new golf 8 interior is nasty! and I really needed the larger boot for my fishing gear)  so   I popped in and said what can you get , petrol, race blue, DSG

quick look on the computer there was a choice of 3 petrol octavias 1 of which was race blue it also had canton as an option...I said I will take it, it was still in germany, so we did the paerwork then I had to wait for skoda to release it

I picked it up last night...it was built on the 5th october according to the nice informative envelope they included in the booklet, I visited the dealer on the 9th october and I collected it on the 29th october...is this some form of miracle and it was meant to be to bring me back into the skoda fold?? or am I just lucky as I was willing to compromise on options

anyway the car is  delight, amazing how the quality has moved on since I had a mk2

I am getting it gtechiqed up on the 10th november so will post some pics then

did you get any discount off the list price though ?  i'd take a guess that theres no way they'd give anything off  when stock cars  are as rare as hens teeth.

if you can wait for a factory order and order  through a broker, it's possible to get £8k off list

not much to be honest on top of the 1750 they were already offereing..but then my golf was worth a fortune compared to 8 months ago when I last looked so its not suprising when second hand values are through the roof...,my part ex will go on their forecourt probably for more than I paid for it brand new 3 years ago which seems insane

yea, 2nd hand car prices are crazy at the moment, you wonder how it's gonna end, rapid price falls or is this gonna be the new norm.

i've ordered a new  superb sportline , with discount £29k,  dealers are selling 1 year old cars with around 8k  miles on the clock for £32k,    crazy times

i think  when new stuff starts to become available though , 2nd hand prices will fall sharply

Asking prices will not drop like a stone where Dealers / traders will need to cover how much they have spent of their money or borrowed money / finance they buy stock with.  BCA lends Money to purchase stock. Others that own vehicles outright like some private or company owners can maybe still do OK selling for a while yet.  Those with an EV to flog might keep on doing well until charging costs take a big hike next year.

2nd hand prices are high at the moment because punters are willing to pay it and thats mainly because theres a long wait for new stuff.

if a new car was available from stock for immediate delivery at the same price as a 1 year old car, theres no way dealers would sell that year old car.

when things get back to normal, dealers will probably still  try it on with the high 2nd hand car prices but if punters dont bite, they'll need to reduce prices.

then again, new prices will probably rise [ like everything else is at the moment] so maybe high  2nd hand prices will be the new norm   😂

Hi from  Italy.
Ordered mine 17 of February. it's an OCTAVIA  ESTATE VRS TDI 4X4.

Still waiting....the dealer told me yesterday they hope it arrives on November!

It’s virtually impossible to buy a new car now (as in walk into showroom, choose it, and drive it home same day).  Many cannot even get you a new car within a week.  I’m not talking about placing an order for sometime mid 2022

There has been much lower new car sales volume for 17 months, so few of these are back on market.  Few people will trade a car today for a newer car if can’t get the newer car, as that leaves them without a car.

Many people have extended leases, or taken the option to buy on PCP (would be daft not to if say balloon is £10k, but car is worth say £14k), so lack of 2-4 year old cars hitting secondhand market.

Then it’s basic economics, lack of supply and increased demand results in higher prices.

The big question is when or if secondhand prices fall, seems unlikely for at least 12 months until dealers start to have lots of unregistered cars available for sale again. Might be 2023 before they can actually supply a choice for cars that are available on site.   However if lots of people then get a new car and trade in a 5 year old car (as pushed back trading in for 2 years), the price of older secondhand cars could tumble.  There are lots of unknowns here, as an example a 2 car family might swap the cars between drivers and trade in oldest instead.

I ordered the same car 20 may and as I have said before 5 delivery dates I have been given but nothing definite.every day I check for any news.i know the whole automotive industry is the same boat, wonder is it only skoda who. Are keeping there customers in the dark with no information at all?

Ordered a VRS 2.0TSI / DSG (Race blue + a few options) on Thursday via Arnold Clark. Salesman quote "upto 7 months" from the latest update they had from Skoda. He put in a optimistic provisional date of 9th April, but reckons they are prioritising anything that is Hybrid or BEV so may slip. Luckily I'm in the position of trading in 2 cars on PCP, both on 4 year deals currently 26 and 14 months in, so there is plenty of flex on this end and hopefully the 14 month old car will start pulling ahead as it is at break even just now.

Have been told by a friend who works for a semi-conductor producer that they expect the worldwide shortage to stretch into 2024 as they can't build new factories fast enough, nor can they rely on the current factories to be at 100% due to covid disruption globally.

Lease dealers have you over a barrel in some ways.

I paid an admin charge (£180) for the initial order and if you cancel once they've ordered the car, it's £360 cancellation fee.

I don't fancy losing £540 to pull out. Guess it's a wait and see next year.

Ordered 30th June.

Ordered 30th June.

You lose out even more at this point since if you cancel you can't order anything with a discount anymore. Prices going up, no one does any deals.

I ordered a vrs earlier in the year but cancelled due to being offered a golf r for very similar monthly payments.

I can assure you it isn’t just Skoda keeping you in the dark with information

vw have no communication at all

online chat has been removed

the dealers get information once a week from the factory which you have to chase up as they don’t contact you.

since my June order I’m on my fourth unconfirmed build date

I’ve had to chase my arse trying to get that information each time as nobody tells you a thing.

my most recent proposed date is feb 2022!

Admin charge and cancellation fee ....what a rip off....when the car arrives there will be half a dozen instant customers .

That depends on whether your current lease car is directly from Skoda or indeed any other VW group company. If it is they will just extend your lease at the same price you are paying until your new car arrives. That's the position that I'm in just now, they've extended my current lease until the end of February. Hopefully my new car will turn up before then!
