Steering wheel still looks just odd in my eyes.

I don't like it, I find it annoying, with the shiny bit where the third spoke should be really catches my eye not in a go way

Luckily there is 3 spoke version. :)

Here is POV test drive and tour on popular b-roll and pass buys filming location for all new cars!

After that first YouTube - I clicked on this link - this man says the Karoq is the quietest SUV amongst it's competitors

In this link, she says in a somewhat throwaway comment, it's not worth going for the variable shock absorbers - hardly noticeable, but I wonder if she compared cars of the same wheel size and anyway some people aren't that sensitive to a firm ride. I really would like to try this suspension (with 16" wheels and all weather tyres) to see how good the ride can get.

Well I've got the Dynamic Chassis Control on my Sportline (which has 19 inch wheels with 225/45 R19 tyres) and I can definitely feel the difference between Comfort mode, Normal mode and Sport mode. I set it to Comfort mode and can feel it 'floating' more. What journalists tend to forget is that it's DYNAMIC so it adjusts the suspension as you corner as well as just adjusting how the shock absorbers react to bumps.

Interesting, when speaking to Skoda UK today regarding my build week (the dealer and SUK can’t seem to agree on which week is what), I asked about the Face lift and the bloke denied all knowledge of one...

Mind you that may well be down to the efficiency of the SUK chat operator!!!

I've interpreted this thread as talking about the MY21 changes not the true facelift which is due at the end of 2021 as that will include new headlights and taillights in line with the Kodiaq's.

Agreed. This isn’t a facelift, just MY revisions.

I was interested CJJE to read those comments about the active dampers & was dubious of the reviewer's comment.  Is the suspension at all crashy in comfort or even normal mode.  I think I read somewhere that such systems also quickly adjust the damper once the wheel hits a bump or hollow, to lessen the impact on the car.

One of those links I put up, I think the first, goes on to say that the Automatic Emergency Braking system works more reliably than most of the competition.  In view of some of the past posts here on brakes being applied occasionally & alarmingly, without any discernable reason, what must the others be like.  Following those reports, I adjusted mine to the most insentive setting & do get the occasional audible warning when driving close to a grass bank or hedge, but have never screeched to a halt - hope that adjustment doesn't affect my insurance.  However, I haven't noticed mention of this issue more recently, so maybe they were just teething problems.

We have warning stripes painted over the road surface on the approach to one particular roundabout near me, which are designed to give loud thumps to a car as it drives over them. The Dynamic Chassis Control doesn't do much to filter these thumps out regardless of its settings so I have to assume that it is not that effective in absorbing sudden bumps. (It is part of my test route for new cars, and the Karoq is still better than most at dealing with them!)

But it does seem to affect the way the car recovers after a sudden jolt. For an isolated pothole, I can feel the car oscillating more afterwards when using the Comfort setting. And when driving along, it seems to float more in Comfort, and react more aggressively in Sport. I used to drive Citroens for many years and loved their hydraulic suspension, which had the same sense of letting the car body float along while the wheels patter up and down over the bumps.

I haven't noticed the Front Assist activating at all (I have it set to its normal sensitivity) despite being aware of the reports and watching out for it. My daughter's Passat has braked suddenly when it was passing a lamp post, and my previous Golf SV used to brake occasionally when overtaking lorries on cruise control (but I could never determine if it was the size of the lorry or its proximity that made it nervous.) However I have avoided nasty collisions in both my Golf SV and Karoq when another vehicle suddenly appeared behind me when I was reversing out of a parking space.

I think the one video we would all appreciate Croat is one giving a detailed explanation of using the new MIB3 satnav system! (Preferably the Amundsen as far as I am concerned! :) )

I’ve never really understood why so many car manufacturers do a mid-cycle refresh after 3-4 years which often seems to involve very little more than a re-design of the headlights and brake lights, bumper etc. It must cost them tens of millions of pounds in Engineering costs, tooling costs, logistics costs etc., just for a slightly different rear light cluster design! It seems completely pointless to me, and a big waste of money. I’d prefer that they spend those tens of millions of pounds giving their customers some really useful extra options free of charge. BMW seem to do these pointless headlight / rear light redesigns whenever they do their mid-cycle “LCI” refreshes.
