For these who are interested I've dug out a few old photos. Unfortunately they're not fully upto date as the exterior pics show my old wheels and one of the interior pics shows my old steering wheel.

What's this all about Eddy ????

There's a prop running down the middle of the car so there's a tank either side of the prop which are linked. Acts like one tank but requires a different pump to the FWD octavias, we also get a slightly larger capacity.

I recieved an update tonight so here's some more pics (larger photos in the gallery):

6spd box fitted:

Turbo and equal length manifold (manifold will be thermally coated for final fitment:

I'm also looking to add the following items to the install:

Oil catch tank

Adjustable and serviceable waste gate actuator

Water injection

very nice, that turbo is hugh compared to a standard one!

HOW wide is the outlet on that turbo? 3 inches?

Yoinks, how close if that turbo to the heater matrix pipes..lol

Awesome looking turbo though :)

I assume you mean the inlet, yes I think it's around 3" but maybe more. I'll check and let you know.

Known in the trade as a saddle tank. Has a suction jet pump in the n/s of the tank which shoots the fuel over to the o/s where it is picked up by the main pump.

;)

inlet/outlet, whatever. :D

I couldn't tell if that was the in or out. I thought it might be a vertically mounted inlet, but I guess not. :)

I've heard that about you ;)

IMO Water Injection would certainly be worth it & you have the advantage on the 4x4 of the larger water tank

Is your engine back together so soon Eddie, or are they pics just for demo and fit?

I think it was just a trial fit for the gearbox and turbo/manifold.

It's been my intention all along to add water injection but the plan was to do it at a later date once the boost was increased, however if the price is right I'll do it now. My only other concern is the chance that it could freeze in winter if I only have water in the tank.

Methanol works well (prevents freezing and it really cleans the windows too) at reducing the temps

As John says, you just add methanol, if you put enough in I guess it hikes the Octane !!!!!!!!!!!!!

It does, but it really helps with the heat disipation when used in a water injection system.

Mine was a tongue in cheek comment, I know what you mean

Hi,

Any idea how much power torque the transmission/ haldex can handle?

Best wishes

There's a few TT's and R32's around running 600bhp+. I emailed HPA and EIP in the US to ask what they had done. Only HPA replied but they said they were running the standard 6spd box and haldex with an uprated haldex controller.

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to get hold of methanol and where from?

Echo Ross' comment turbo looks very close to bulk head in the pics....assume there's enough space for engine movement.

Methanol...a lot of screen washes are now methanol based.

I've just had a word with JBS about this and they say the photo is deceptive due to the additional heat shield matting they have installed which actually has a bit of a gap behind it. Also the coolant pipes near the turbo won't be in the position shown for the final installation.

That's just a dummy engine shown in the install as mine is still waiting for pistons but this was done so that the downpipe can be made and the gearbox fitment could be checked.
