Footwell light - PIN in BCM ?

Featured Replies

Hi,
I want to mount footwell light in Yeti from 2012.

I already have mounted lights and harness.
Now I need to plug this into BCM module.

And there is a problem.

PIN B50 is already taken.

In octavia 2 prelift it was B7 PIN, but it didn't work in this case.

BCM: 1K0 937 086 R

Anyone know which pin I should use?

It'll be B50 just like a FL Octavia with a BCM:

But B50 is already taken by rear fog light, and when I turn on the footwell light in MFA, this rear fog lamp is lightning instead footwell light.

Then you'll need VCP or ODIS to reprogram the light outputs and move the rear fog light to a new pin. The footwell lighting is always on B50 and cannot be moved...

If there are no spare pins, you may need a replacement BCM with some extra outputs :)

I have VCP and I tried to move rear fog lamp to pin B48 or B47 it works, but I don't have this pins in this BCM.

So I will change it in the near future. For now I connect rear fog lamp to the front. So rear are turning on with front fog lights.

Thanks for your help.

By the way - VAG helper doesn't show each pins - for example it doesn't show front fog light.
Do You know any better program or solution for this platform?

That's because the front fogs aren't part of the normal lighting config block :)

They are earlier in the EEPROM but only seem to support bulb diagnosis on or off...

I did it :)

It works just like you said - I changed  rear front light to B47 or B48 PIN.

Footwell light is supported by B50 pin - diming from dashboard, turn ON/OFF...

Hello, could you help me change the rear fog light to a different pin? I don’t have a pin coming from the BCM port. I will attach a picture so you can see the issue. I don’t know how to change it or how to program it. I would really appreciate your help!

I see that you are using VCP to transfer the pin, I assume. Is it posible with VCDS or can i use VCP with VCDS cable ?

Not possible with VCDS.

You need to have direct access to the BCM EEPROM so you'll need either VCP or ODIS-e :)

Hi @szogun, I have the same problem with my 2011 Skoda Yeti. When I turn on the footwell LEDs, my rear fog light also comes on. How did you physically connect the fog light from pin B50 to another pin and then code/assign it?

I have VCP and VCDS cables. Thank you for your interest.

@langers2k, do you have any information on this? If I move the rear fog lamp to an unused pin, how can I assign it with VCP?

I just found a video like this. I'll try it out.

Ouch - it was a long time ago.
I'm not pretty sure if I remember well - but VCP has build in output programming.

PQ35 BCM Programmer

Or You can just read the configuration and save it as a file and send it to me.
I will compare it with mine file.

Hello @Szogun, in the video I shared, I had to enter many places while searching for the pin assignment made with a different version of VCP in my VCP 5.5.1 version. As a result, VCP does not read the lighting profile and gives the following error.

Also, I cannot print the file I prepared with VAGHelper. Then it gives an error too.

But I can get into Coding $22. I did Byte 18 in 00, I did it in 1D (Yeti 5L), nothing changed. If Byte is not already 18 00, whatever lighting profile is selected takes priority. It does not take into account changes prepared with VAGHelper and saved with VCP.

In fact, it is clearly visible on the screen where the lights are adjusted that the B50 has foot lighting.

It would be enough to assign the profile I prepared with the existing VAGHelper_2014.09.10_0.0.1.18 and VAGHelper.X_2.0.0.7, assign the rear fog lamps to an unused pin and physically move them. I couldn't think of this point before I started poking around.:(

The fact that Byte 18 is 00 was not fully understood and explained in many forums on this subject. I realized this was the case when dealing with VCP. Byte 18 must be 00 for subsequent changes to be valid!

The reading and writing problem may have occurred after entering the Security Access Key below.

Does anyone know what caused this problem? If I reset the BCM to factory settings, will it be fixed?

// Since English is not my language, whatever Google translate translates... ;)

When I connected to the car today using a laptop with Windows 7 installed, it did not give any read or write errors in the BCM. I was able to perform the necessary coding.

My main goal was to separate the rear fog light on pin 50 of the T52b connector from the footwell lighting, and to activate and control it independently. However, I noticed that there were no connection terminals in the unused pins. For that reason, I decided to keep the footwell lighting on pin B50. I don’t think the rear fog light being dimly lit while driving will cause any issues. It will light up at full power when the door is opened. Additionally, when the rear fog light is on in foggy conditions, the footwell LEDs will also be at full brightness. Since it’s usually not foggy, this won’t be much of a problem.

// This time I translated it into English with chatgpt.

@resim why are You using so old version of VCP?
I'm pretty sure there is a 8.X.X version already available

My car is a 2011 model with a PQ35 platform, so VCP version 5.5.1 works for me. I don't think a newer version than the one that came with the device will work. Because VCP is made in China. :(
