Wheel spacers?

Featured Replies

I have a 65 plate hatch on 19” wheels. I feel the wheels look a bit recessed in the arch. Where do I get so-called ‘spacers’ from to ‘push the wheel outwards’? Is it a big job?

Spacers make a big difference mate. I run 12mm front and back.. H&R ones but I’m also lowered on H&R.

It's not a hard job at all to fit - remove wheel, place spacer on, put wheel back on.

However, make sure the spacers r hub centric and the correct bore size.  Also make sure u use longer bolts, usually supplied with the spacer, as the factory bolts won't cut it any more.

I would also recommend that u don't go less than 10mm.  Likewise don't go more than 20mm.

N lastly, don't buy el cheapo ones.  Get a good quality brand.

I've got 15mm hub centric spacers on mine, front & rear.  I have 19" wheels and it's lowered 25mm - the car looks much better with it.

It's been 3 yrs now, and I've had no issues.

eBay Germany before brexit tax lol. H&R sell a kit including longer bolts and locking nut. Also think euro car parts sell them but won’t be cheap. Try eBay.de search for

Hi Mick, is that eibach set the 30mm drop all round? I am very tempted, but there's very little wiggle room there 😊 what's the drop on the H and R

@Wazza99 From memory that is the 30mm drop but it’s the Eibach kit. There’s no rubbing either with a full boot or going over speed bumps.

No idea about H&R though.

Awesome, have you noticed a difference in it being less floaty, that's the only thing I don't like about mine, I know it's not going to handle like a ariel atom, but it's way too soft

Definitely less floaty. Stock springs make it feel like you’re on a boat!

H&R made it less floaty but then this fixes the floatiness  completely

Doing the DCC recalibration on mine fixed the last remaining floatiness and crashy bounces that the Eibachs couldn't eliminate.

It's great now.

Just changed to 15mm hub-centric spacers alluminium alloy for both front & back.

I really like the Trinity 19" Rims. But I would change to forged rims next year, in the meantime I thought of just trying spacers for the outlook.

Attached some photos to see the difference for before and after.

Is 15mm spacers okay for original springs I’m planning on doing this as my wheels look behind a bit to much. Aftermarket but 19’’

i had no issues using 15mm spacers with the factory 19x8" (ET44) rims and 235/40/19 tyres.
i had slight scrubbing, at the rear only, on full compression when i switched to 245/40/19 tyres. at this point i changed to 10mm spacers.

i'm now running aftermarket 19x8.5" (ET35) rims with 245/40/19 tyres - no spacers required.

Forge do 11mm spacers which I used on the basis of JRRS’ experiences (as running 245 tyres at the mo). Got them through AwesomeGTI who also supplied extended bolts and I bought some longer locking bolts too.

All fine even lowered on coilovers.

I bought instead 10mm from Eibach and also longer bolts, however after a quick fit, I don't mind winter tires to "tuck in" so it reduces the amount of road spray and overall dirtiness (here winter is ... winterish, and especially dirtiesh!) so for now they stay on the shelf.

Will see in spring, hoping I don't misplace them by then!
