some gadge on ebay reckons its ok to fit vrs spring to lesser fabias

Featured Replies

They'll physically fit but I'd personally only do it on a model of the same/similar weight. I think most of the other Fabia's would be lighter as the nearest match I can think of is the PD100 but IIRC that has the 5spd gearbox which is lighter.

yeah thats what i thought

Hmm seller would seem to go by the name Hellfire aswell.

Wont effect warranty? Well if they aint approved for the vehicle they are fitted on they will, 312mm brakes wouldnt be covered, whats the difference?

Ooops!

I particularly like this line from the auction: "Will not affect your warranty as this is a genuine Skoda part "

Tut tut Hellfire. :nono:

On the pd100 they tend to give it a very slight nose up attitude due to the vrs being about 60kg heavier in the nose, better to use eibach springs and vrs dampers.

ammended accordingly. will they only fit the 1.9 tdi or the 1.4 tdi also?

They will probably FIT but they won't WORK properly. They have been chosen to suit the weight of the vRS and, as has been pointed out, the other Fabias are lighter, particularly in the nose. They will likely end up with their noses way up in the air.

so basically it's a 1.9 tdi only mod. ok ammended AGAIN.

No it's a vRS spring. As has been pointed out the vRS is heavier, largely due to the 6 speed gearbox. 60kg IIRC

Not suitable for other models.

Drove ok with the vrs springs but the eibachs really showed up how the nose was up. With vRS springs the car got very light at speed, Im guessing because front was lifting. With eibach TDI specific (NOT vRS) it is slightly nose down and is very good at speed. Those 60kg make a BIG difference.
