Skoda Connect Missing

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, help would be appreciated.  My car does not have a Skoda Connect menu option in the infotainment system.  I have registered and installed the app on my phone; signed in with the car key in the car....??  Should it not have one?

Hi mate , my last car *_( Superb) had it but this one doesn't.  I think the whole car is online and connect features are there without a menu item. Things like live traffic ( depending on your privacy settings.  Find a POI all accessible via screen or via Laura. No weather or news options. I think as most of us use Apple or Android , no need for VW to code that in.

Not sure whether this is related but there appears to be an issue with the connect App at the moment, I believe they are on the case?

Skoda connect on the mk4 doesn't have a menu button that i'm aware of, it "jest werks" on the car side, or in this case it doesn't as others said there appears to be a problem atm.

From my experience with my MK4, once you have set your vehicle up and added it to the app using its VIN, then you control the whole lot through the app - which I believe is the whole point of it.

The app has functions like showing where it is parked, if it is locked, windows closed, the ability to sound the horn (to help you find the car), shows if it has been driven away from the zone you set (i.e. stolen), on some models you can tell it to start the aircon before you get in it, send directions to it for the satnav etc.

The app is used to monitor and control the vehicle, thus there's no reason for there to be a menu of any kind in the car.

Tthere is no skoda connect functionality in the car. There is an icon, though.  If it's grey it will be mean you don't have internet thus no skoda connect. (see the attachment)

As Gax said there is nothing to configure on the car, the skoda connect function is to be able to log-in in the app or a web browser and all the functionality is there. More info on the attachements extracted from the manual.

Cheers

Guys thanks for your helpful comments -  Skoda make so many things options, its difficult to work out what is available on our vehicle.  Our app will not allow us to upload a route - I am guessing now, that it is because I am running apple car play.  Also, the app will tell me the car is locked or unlocked, but won't allow me to remotely lock it....  Is this normal?

I know you can send routes to the car gps through the Skoda connect web. I've never used it as I prefer Google maps/waze..I need to figure out the way to send POIs to the gps to start using it.

Regarding the lock/unlock in my case it states it needs to be validated at the dealer.

For the app based lock/unlock, yes you need the user account validated through the dealer and the car needs to support it. My early built car appears not to. If the lock & unlock buttons appear in the app for your car then that’s a good sign - just need to get the user account validated.

At the time I tried to upload a route to my car the function wasn’t available, a pop up telling me it will be implemented soon. Can’t try it at the mo as it is at the dealer awaiting the kph/mph fix.

You can't do that since new Octavias have an e-sim and no physical slot for the real sim.
