Electric drivers seat controller issues

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I really need some help!

Got a Skoda Superb Estate II and unfortunately the drivers electric seat has stopped working :-(

A couple of questions:

1. Is there a way to manually move the seat?  I can't find any way at all but thought I would ask! The reason it's so important is my daughters wedding is next weekend and I really really need to move it!

2. If it can't be moved manually can I unplug the controller completely and add 12v power to the pins for the motors!?  i.e. in the diagram below could I supply the purple and black motor wires on v28 with +12v to move the motor one way or the other (obviosuly one at a time as assume one is back and one is forward)?

Any advice greatly appreciated!!

Yes you could do this.

Preference is to use a current limited supply like a lab supply to drive the motors as you'll be driving them without the benefit of the position feedback so you might hit an end.  If that happened current would go really high and you risk some damage.  Using a power supply limited to say 5 amps would minimise this.
