Anyone Seen An Interior Like This?!

Featured Replies

So I was strolling through the AutoTrader web-page, as one does, and I came across this blue 1.2 Fabia Comfort and at first I noticed the Octavia (?) alloy wheels, and then I saw this blue interior including blue seats and door cards! Was this a factory/dealer spec option or what?

I now wish I'd not seen that one either! ;)

Agreeing with this, a fool and their money and so forth...

'kinell!!!!!!!!!!!

If you look at the patches of grey showing through it looks like the Kevin has painted the seat inserts, I reckon he did the same on the door cards and it has either covered better or retained its colour better.

Painting or perhaps dieing cloth seats :o that was never going to end well.

Takes me back though, I bought some shiny nylon padded seat covers in the 70's for my HB Viva that looked just like those, well better actually but still sh1te in hindsight.

I believe you may be correct, there's a photo showing the drivers seat which looks as if it's been taken apart and sewn back together blindly! 🤦‍♂️

Seat dye 100 percent.

Stupid cause i'm guessing the cheap stuff would come off onto someones sweaty behind on a hot day

If I had had my glasses on last night when looking at the advertisement, then I'd probably have picked up on that. :D

Considering these cars came in metallic orange and even fantasy green, I suppose it shouldnt surprise me! Interesting its original, even moreso that it would be a pretty rare option. I've only ever seen mk1s with old man grey (like my car originally), or old man black and beige.

Somehow I don't think its gonna make the car sell quickly.

@Lofty  I guess they'd be the ones referred to here by the different colour names in the 'title' column here: seat - Fabia(FAB) [EUROPA 2002 year] (7zap.com)

Any idea what the -XX letter pairs refer to in the 'note' column?

I've seen them before on a few EKTA pages and never found out what they mean.

Yeah, thought I'd seen that colour on a Fabia before.

I think you may be surprised to hear that the fabric is not dyed, it's one of the optional colourways that the comfort model came with at the time, it was either the default dark grey outers with light grey inners - which came with black door panels, or the customers could choose blue or red colourways as well.

Thanks Lofty! I had seen it before actually but I wasn't sure if it was another DIY one but I also got a hold of the options catalogue and sure enough, it's there. Thank you for clearing that up though!

No worries, i'm trawling through memories from years ago TBH, 2004 feels like yesterday but is far from it!! I've been to bed a lot since then.

Wino - I've no idea what the twin letters mean, sometimes the ETKA system makes complete sense, other times less so.

If you want weird and wonderful interior shots, i had this saved on my pc, i think it was a design study for the Fabia vRS, although I may be wrong on it. The exterior looks race blue to me so that dates it at 2006/7 I guess?

The seats look like vRS/Bohemia/Sport items with F/L Ambient cloth centres but piping on the edges? Could even be white / silver leather edges? Gear knob was F/L Sport item, Knee bars i've not seen on any Skoda but the wheel and the clocks look great!

And what is not to love about Mystery (or was it Mystic?) Beige on the Elegance. Like falling over into a molten Caramac...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the gear knob was also available as an option for the Ambiente?

It's quite an interesting design over all. It's a tad too bright in there for my liking but it's very nice 🙂

On a roll now...

LHD Market only, Fabia 100 Edition, came with vRS bumpers, chrome exhaust trim, and almost white / grey plush leather, like the UK model Mk1 Superb 100 Edition..

Would be nice if the door cards were of a matching colour but I like it very much!

Another which we never got over here. Fabia Mk1 Tour de France edition. I "think" only available in Lemon Yellow and had rather fetching Bright Yellow (with a subtle black edge) seat belts. I tried for months to get TPS to find a set of belts for my Yellow vRS but alas they are discontinued.

My ultimate favourite Fabia Mk1 interior was the LCV version, the Praktik. Based on the Europe only "junior" edition, it made do without glovebox or radio, just had storage pockets.

Speaking of the Junior model, here she is! They even fitted the slightly larger diameter Octavia Mk1 4 spoke steering wheel as these 1.0 OHV models didn't have power steering either..

I heard about Junior models before, they also had 1.9 sdi engined ones, also apparantly without power steering.

From experience with my sdi and no powersteering, I don't envy whoever bought them. :D

Such a strange costcutting measure of removing the gloveboxes on the easy and junior models. The most basic of mk2 fabias don't have any glovebox either. Surely it cost just as much to have a different panel than just putting gloveboxes in all of them?

The intention is for people to choose a higher level and pay a lot more for it than the cost to the manufacturer of the upgrades.

It is not a case of "removing them" on basic models, the basic model is the standard spec, the cost of tooling up for the higher spec gloveboxes etc is more than justified by the increased profit from people having no choice but to purchase a raft of so called upgrades when all they want is one essential.

As someone who ended up with a poverty spec Yeti (no choice it was a good salvage deal) I did not like the open storage compartments but completeley understand why they use that business model.

In fact the open compartment which looked really messy with all the trade cards trolley tokens etc that I improved with a MK2 Octavia ashtray lid is open on all the models.
