Automatic relocking security

Featured Replies

Hi!

I have a 2011 Octavia Combi. Loading stuff into the rear can be really annoying, especially in busy places.
One unlocks the boot with the key and start to load, then half way through all the doors autolock because you haven't opened a side door.
Worse still if you have moved away from the car to collect items. As youy put them into the car the alarm goes off because the security system has reset too.
Okay the simple answer is to go round to the side and open one of the rear passenger doors and then it won't reset, but is there a simple way to customise this setting?

Probably not. I can't find anything in the manual, but it is so annoying when your - for example - sneaking out on an early morning fishing trip and as you load your rods into the car (brilliant size for this) the alarm goes off and wakes up the neighbourhood.
It's a minor issue, but I know some of you have real insight and I thought it was worth asking.
Thanks.

Check that the boot open light appears on the display. If not, then the boot lock is not giving a boot open signal and the locking system will act as you described.

Thanks. I hadn't spotted that.

The lights in the boot space aren't coming on either so I guess I'll need to replace the lock unit.

Can I pick your brains again? There seem to be two things available - the tailgate lock (which I think is what I need to replace) and a Lock Actuator solinoid.

I was slightly worried that this was the electrical bit of the lock, so could possibly be the bit I need.
Any ideas?

I replaced the door lock and now all is well.

Thanks so much for your support and wisdom.
