VRS Blackline - Amundsen System - No Bluetooth?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I recently acquired a VRS Blackline and going through the various features of the Amundsen system, it appears that the Phone button acts as mute button.

I have gone through the various troubleshooting suggestions and it appears that this particular vehicle did not have bluetooth.

Is this something that can be rectified by a Skoda specialist (and if so, does anyone know how much this would cost?) or should I look at an aftermarket alternative?

Many thanks.

The Bluetooth module could be added and some coding done but I would think that a new aftermarket headunit would offer more functionality. Remember that the surround might need to be different though.

If I remember correctly, no blackline got bluetooth as standard so the 'Phone' button working as mute is completely normal...

That being said, they normally have an Amundsen+ (RNS-315) fitted - most of these do have the BT hardware installed but disabled.

If you want to check, remove the headunit from the car and look for a sticker with a MAC address. If it's 00:00:00:00:00:00 then it doesn't have BT built in, if it's any other numbers, then you're in luck. Assuming that's the case, you just need to add a microphone and enable BT in the headunit coding

Is there a guide for doing this on the VCDS or should I approach a specialist? (assuming that Langers is correct and the bluetooth is deactivated but present on my vehicle?)

Very easy to do just Click here

You might have to go into cluster display to check it to on

I think the rns315 has built in Bluetooth,

Took it out today and you were right a Mac Address with numbers.

Next Step: Buy the microphone kit!
