Middle Rear Headrest

Featured Replies

I'd like to add a middle rear headrest to the Fabia to modernise it ever so slightly. Obviously "Fabia-specific" headrests are about as common as bald eagles with toupees, so I considered one from a 9N VW Polo. Does anyone know if those fit with the holes hidden under seat fabric? My assumption is yes considering it's probably from the VAG Parts bin like most cars. I'm also planning to get a set of the headrest guides off the web with the Polo headrest since they all look the same. I've attached some photos of the headrest off the 'net.

Thanks in advance.

:) - It does also look like a rear head head restraint out of an Octavia 1.

I may just bite the bullet on it I think, the holes are pre-established on these seats IIRC.

That's the plan. Got one added to my basket currently.

I would like one on my Roomster but you have to order it when buying new at the showroom. I believe that if you feel the back  and top of the seat through the material the fittings are there. I have not bothered but that third headrest should have been fitted at the factory as in 2013 it was only £65 to order one.

Well I'd need a time machine, and at that I'd spec a better engine and trim too. :D

I can indeed. I'd like to fit it as part of my operation to make my Fabia look and feel a tad newer. :)

If you cut neat holes in the seat cover and fit the plastic trim sockets it should slide straight in I reckon.

Thanks! I've got the plastic sockets in the basket too. I'll be sure to report back with my findings.

Alright guys, I've had a problem with fitting. The headrest guides I ordered don't fit, I ordered 1T0883920C and 1TO883920E thinking they'd fit but they don't fit sadly. Could anyone provide a proper P/N?

Thanks Pete! I've got the numbers, being 6Y0886920A and 6Y0886920. Just for anyone else having the same crisis. :)

As a side note people, the 9N headrest I ordered had the guide poles the wrong way round for the guides fitted to the seats (partially, also the wrong part number). I will now attempt to find the correct parts.

Update: I got this fitted. I put a guide in the Fabia Guides Section for anyone else who wants to give it a bash.

Thank you to everyone who helped with this. :)
