Was there a (mini) facelift this year?

Featured Replies

Hi!

I noticed that the prices for Superb increased quite a bit, while the prices for Octavia remained that same (at least in my country).

Is this due to the recent situation? How come it does not affect the Octavia?

Or were there any changes/improvements this year? New engines (Euro 6 AP ? That is actually mandatory in EU).

I noticed new models have USB-C while older had USB-A connectors. When was this change made?

In the UK the superb prices increased a good bit 2 years or so ago when the facelift came out but shortly after the price increases,  discounts from brokers increased from around 13% up to  23%. So it wasn't really a price increase, maybe skoda realised they had over priced the cars , who knows,  but bmw being doing this sort of thing for years ie list price of £60k but no one is actually paying £60k as cars can be had for around £40k.  It makes buyers feel like they have got a great deal  when in reality they have just payed what the price should have been.

Yes octavia prices haven't increased as much as the superb but discounts are less , no brokers will give you 23% of the octavia list price.

Yes there was a facelift (mk3.5) Superb released.

Exterior changes to the front (bumper & headlights) and rear (taillights).

Interior changes included new bits n bobs here n there, like new steering wheel, USB-C and MIB3.

I think VC is also standard on SEL spec, was an extra before.

MIB3 is basically what the mk4 Octavia has?

indeed - same same.

its also found in the Scala.

the newer MY20 and MY21 models also feature the MIB3 units, potentially, depending on market/spec.

Are there pictures of the outside (and inside, for that matter) of old and new version?

I'll try a web search, but two heads are better than one...

There were also minor changes between 2020 and 2021 build dates of the Mk3 (certainly in the case of the iV)... this is the info I got from a dealership at the time...

The main difference with the MY21 is the new 2 spoke steering wheel and some minute changes to spec.

Other changes include:

Removal of torch llight in boot

Removal of warning lights/safety reflectors in front doors

Auto dipping wing mirror now only applicable to drivers side

USB A port has been replaced by USB C Port

Here is a video walkaround of the Superb 2021 facelift (L&K iV) with the 2 spoke steering wheel.

Other differences include the old USB A port in the armrest storage area but also the lack of SD card inputs in the glove box. The removal of the torchlight in the boot makes sense for me but not some of the other things (like auto dipping only on one side).

I do like the front bumper of the facelift but the foglight design ruins it for me, too much chrome and empty space.
