Except its not!!  Skoda is part of VAG who's share most of their componants. Porsche and Nissan are completly seperate companies!!

Anywho i don't own a VW or a Skoda.

Each to their own.... I could have had a used Boxter but I fell for the Datsun

-the 2.7 still uses more a lot more fuel than my Octavia ;)

The 350Z appeals to me -it's actually got a proper boot.

It has  but we've yet to work out how to get the dog used to the lack of windows

However, interior storage is limited if you get a GT spec as one of the stowage bins is filled with an 8" sub woofer, this leaves just one behind the passenger seat.

It's still a Datsun :haha:

;)

Get it right............... its a Datsun Cherry Z

Bostin'! :D

Boxster fuel economy isnt that bad, the 2.7 is good as already mentioned. Have been using my 3.2 daily for the last 3 weeks and for the 800 Miles I have done in that time (motorway, lots of traffic and A roads) the computer has the average MPG at 29.5 which isnt that bad but the fuel tank is tiny so the cars range is just over 300 miles.

The boxster also has 2 boots, a huge one in the front and a smaller one in the back. We can easily get the weekly shop in the back one, and still have enough room for a weeks luggage for 2 in the front.

Have yet to try the Z to see what its like, but for the time being my 3.2 Boxster will have to do.

After Des nearly got lost inside, I can confirm that Mannyo's boots are huge.

I test drove the 350z again on Friday, along with the 2.7 Boxster.

Despite the premium, if I do take the plunge, it will be the boxster.

The 350z is definitely a little quicker, but didnt feel as well balanced as the porker; in short I had more fun in the boxster.

Yes the 350z is much cheaper, but as someone has already said residuals are relatively crap when compared to the porsche, and the second hand argument doesnt change that. Despite the price difference, Ive worked out that ultimately I can own the porsche for practically the same cost to me as the 350z.

On another note, anyone who knows me will know Im a scruffy feck. If I did end up getting a 350z it wouldnt be from that dealership, as I was treated like I couldnt afford the car for most of the time....The Porsche people were entirely different, from the receptionist to the sales guy.

And finally - the Porsche HQ in Reading - Christ !!!! Its the only place in the UK they can service Carrera GT's - There were at least 6 of them there when I got taken around the service/prep area - and what a sound !!! Also there was a white 959 in there - owned by the King of Kuwait (or somewhere like that) I believe - think he pays something like a grand a month just to keep it there :) It was imaculate, incredible motor....

Hi

I can see why you would choose the Boxter. I was too considering something bigger and faster than the car I eventually bought, but at the end of the day, the most important thing about the car is how much it makes you grin while you are driving it.

It came down to ultimate speed and loads of grip vs less speed but balance, delicacy and handling. Engine in the middle was a must (until you drive and begin to master mid engined stuff you just cant understand how much difference it makes to the way a car changes direction) as was low weight. I bottled it on a Lotus and ended up going Toyota. Considered a Boxter, but within the budget, there were only very high milers about.

Is it the fastest car I have ever owned? Actually, it is slower than most of my other cars in a straight line. However, get it on my favourite B roads and it is the most fun I have ever had on four wheels.

Hope you go for it and enjoy:thumbup:

Chris

out of interest why did you 'bottle' on the lotus chris ?

Well after my budget had been trimmed by the Chancellor, I had to keep running costs down. I needed something fun to drive and I reckon te Elise is the best out there, but within my budget were all leggy examples with K series engines. So two things, high mileage and older cars are not a good idea if cheap running costs are involved and the K series 1.8 derivative is an engine that I would avoid like the plague.

Needed aircon really as well, so not Elise in my price range either. Lastly and by no means least, the servicing costs are steep. Mate just bought an Exige and his interim service is
