Fabia VRS rear rattle

Featured Replies

I have a really loud metal rattle rouse coming from the rear of the car. It sounds like the boot door. I have tried the following:

Rear seats checked

emptied the boot fully and spare wheel

heat sheild checked

put tape on latch of boot

all done and it’s still there. Does anyone have any ideas as it’s driving me mad as it’s always there 😢

cheers

Get someone else to drive whilst your in the boot, atleast you should be able to narrow it down to roughly where it is and if it's inside or outside the body.

Dude's 2m tall remember, he doesn't fit in the front, let alone the back.

Worth having a look inside the rear hatch.

Just incase it was one of the ones that had a faulty rear wiper motor and there is something left in there loose.

The rear seats fold or one folds and you sit in the other rear seat.  Try the passenger side one, then try the other side.

People have been getting in the back to hear where the rattle comes from in the rear since the Mk2's came out.

Managed to get a video of the noise

In all honesty, very hard to tell anything from that apart from that there IS a rattle 😁

If I took a pot shot, I would be looking at the boot catch / latch and boot stops to ensure its pulled tight when closed.

After that would be rear seat latches...................Does it make the noise with the rear seats folded down / unlatched ?

Still makes noise with seats down. Looked at the hatch and there is no movement in the door when it’s parked up but you could be right
