AC vents different temperture

Featured Replies

hello friends,

cold day arrived and my air vent give me diffrent temperture,

air vent 1 give me the tempeture I desire, but 2, 3, 4 vents are more colder when 4 is the coldest and 3 less and 2 is more also less colder.

I tried any kind of ac settings, and did AC+face calibration - didnt work.

any ideas what can I do?

Happy Christmas.

?

Did the cabin reach the temperature you requested?

If faulty maybe someone can help.

Personally i do not measure the heat coming from each vents or outlets if i have AC / Auto / Climate Control on in a vehicle as i want the temp in the cabin or the zone of the cabin once the system gets the opportunity to bring the air in the cabin up to that temperature or when wanting a cooler interior down to that temperature.

If I remember you can set Driver and Passenger temperatures separately (depending on model)

I dont use it, I turn it on without any separed zones, just regular climate control with or without AC. I noticed this beacuse in cold weather the climate control didnt warm the car well as it used to be

No it did not reach the desire temperature.

In cold weather after the engine is hot, still cant warm beacuse of different temperatures air vents.

I own the car for 10 years, I am sure there is some problem, sould you advise to clean some part of the ac?

So what age of Yeti, how many miles done, has the AC been serviced.  Has the pollen filter been changed. ? Has the anti freeze / summer coolant ever been tested or changed?     What is the ambient temperature and what is the temperature being requested in the car?   Have you had the car long and last time it was cold did the heater heat the car.

Do you regularly adjust temperature and/or direction (include setting the Demist mode here) to exercise the control flaps? If not, then I prescribe 10 minutes of flapperobics before doing anything else.

Could be  a thermocouple in the control system not working   ---   I had a similar sounding problem with my first Yeti,  said piece replaced and no further  problems.

Good luck!!

Sounds probable if it has Climatronic.

I have the much simpler manual heater and AC in this vehicle after Climatronic in the previous ones, the only drawback is having to juggle the heat control on a cold start cold day, it needs max until engine up to temp and then progressively turning down, Climatronic takes care of that well, the rest for me now is just unnecessary complication.

The two centre vents will be at the same temperature as they share the same duct, flap and thermocouple, the thermocouples in the outer ones can become detached, they are situated right near the outlet. I would check thermocouple 1.

There’s a process to reset/calibrate the vent flaps.

His car has climate control and he said he has done calibration.

I've got a similar problem. I've tried the re-set procedure which sort of works temporarily but is not the answer.

I can hear the flaps moving when reverse selected, and it groans and wheezes to move about. No clicking of skipping gears, just seems to be clogged up.

I do a fair bit of gravel driving about, I normally have the re-circ flap shut to keep the dust out, but dust gets everywhere inside eventually.

I'm thinking I need someone to look at what's happening - I guess a dealer would just renew everything in sight? Are there any good views of the flaps, most You Tube stuff shows LHD cars so not really a lot of help.

That sounds like the cabin air filter is missing or not fitted correctly.

Jerry, borrow an endoscope and see if that will help.

No, it's not that. I renew the cabin filter and engine air filter several times a year

Not too sure what to make of that Graham 😆, where would I get one and where would I put it?

There is an indie near me, so I might try him as the heat output is low, but sometimes belts out hot.

The Yeti is on 120k and all fine except this - bit of a nuisance in cold wet mornings.

ps:HNY to all

Why ever do you do that?

I thought that would have been obvious. I drive a lot on gravel roads, summer and winter. In drier times sometimes the dust is so thick I can't see out of the back window, and following another vehicle is something to try and avoid.

Hence I change both filters several times a year. Static makes the dust stick round the door seals, on the metalwork under the seats - it gets everywhere.

I did refer to this way back 😣

I was looking for some useful help in understanding the CC flap operating mech.

Some people don't understand the use we make of our cars, Jerry.

That sentence is why I thought the endoscope might be useful.

What's to understand? You press "recirc" the recirculation flap closes off the outside intake; press recirc again and the intake opens' press "hotter" and more air is fed through heater exchanger; fan speed up and the fan blows "harder" etc.

Not in either of my Yetis...

Do we have to drag out what happens to your Yeti's?

Do they have big feet?

If I press the recirc button when when recirc on on it changes recirc to automatic air distribution and then if I press it again it turns off. I thought all Yetis with Climatronic automatic air conditioning did this?
