11 plate vrs ( cave ). engine other than regular maintenance small top up of oil now and again running well. Just coming up to 60k. looking back at service history and paperwork that came with car can't see any work done to any belts chains pumps.  and was thinking is it time to  change any. more as a preventative measure .or does the old adage if not broken don't try to fix come in. Not sure how many belts are in the engine if any one can advise. Thanks in advance

I would stick to the service schedule like glue and I wouldn't be overthinking anything until I'd run the car through the summer.

I done my chain at 50k,Purely because it was a 10 year old chain and i knew it was a canter to change. Tsi's will let you soon enough if your chains stretched either audibly, a misfire or a code firing up, Wouldn't ever consider that it will snap.

In terms of chain and belts, You only need to replace timing chain and tensioner as the oil pump chain will very rarely shows sign of wear or the spring loaded tensioner associated. You have drive belt and supercharger drive belt as well as the water pump itself, these only need replaced when showing signs of use/wear or worth doing if your water pump chucks it, regular coolant flush and avoid putting water in the coolant and the water pump should last.

Chain, water pump and all belts can be done in a half day, I done mine on my driveway.

Micks got it spot on would like to put that the chains do stretch on these engines and can make the engine go out of timing
