2019 citigo 3 year service requirement

Featured Replies

Hi

Have owned my 2019 citigo from new and really been pleased

Just coming up to 3 year service and started calling around for service quotes

Mileage of car =18k BTW

Supplier garage All Electric garage is quoting a Inspection service (oil & filter) £185  , an optional  extended scope service bringing cost to £245

I asked what extended scope covered but was not really given a clear answer , was told just more checks ?????

Another dealer Trust Skoda quoted oil & filter £130 and had no ideal what extended scope service meant ?

They mentioned brake fluid needed to be changed as a option ???? not sure if needed ???

Can any one please shed some light what 3 year service is needed and what a extended scope service actually is  / needed ???

Cheers Steve

The Scope element is explained here https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/extended-scope but it does appear to include most of the things in the extortionate oil and inspection service. I ditched Skoda main dealer servicing at the first opportunity and now get more done for less money at a local garage that I actually trust to do the work.

Many thanks

Yep looks to be the same as the oil and inspection service , apart from removing wheels  and a few more checks ....

Not sure if the brake fluid needs changing after 3 years and 18000 miles ?

Cheers Steve

Get your independent to check it for water content and change if required.

Just had this exact service on my 3 year old Seat Mii.

I opted to use a local VAG specialist, who recommended both an oil & filter change and brake fluid change (+ MOT).

I understand brake fluid is due at 3 years and every 2 years thereafter.

Now the car is out of manufacturer warranty I didn't feel the need to go back to the main dealer:thumbup:

I don't know of any local to you, but I can recommend Midland VW if you are willing to travel.
They are top notch guys, the lead time can sometimes be two weeks as they are always flat out.

I put my recently acquired 15 plate CitiGo into a VW independent. To change oil and oil filter, including flushing as well, new sump plug washer was £86.60. He was booked up for nearly 3 weeks but fitted me in at 8:30am as oil would be warm from driving there. That was near Chester though.

I will be using him again.
