Annoying sun reflections from driver or passenger door chrome list

Featured Replies

Anyone experiencing this and do you have a solution for it?

Not just the sun. Back when I had mine, I was at a junction one night and spent an extra 30s or so because every time I double checked for traffic, I got a flash of reflection from a streetlamp in my peripheral vision.

It’s really poorly designed. Right now I just put my arm over it to cover it, but sometimes you’re not ready and the sun just hits you and blinds you for half a second which would be enough to cause serious accidents.

I think about painting it or cover it with some tape. Or just get rid of the list and drive without it. Maybe there is a replacement part which is not chrome..?

like many others on here here, just wish  they had the chance to find out themselves.sorry to butt in on this thread.

Switch to RS. Its black ;)

No really. Just tape it over.

Here in lies the case for vRS/Sportline!

It’s a pretty large reflection area as well.. I get blinded at least once in every drive I take on a sunny day.

Still shiny in the vRS but black shiny.

I noticed it a few times in the first couple of weeks but not noticed it since.

For me it's the passenger side I'm getting dazzled by most. Only the door handle as the trim is black gloss on mine.

Thinking about just putting some electrical black tape around the top curved but this is where it seems to reflect most.

Some bits of chrome effect around the steering wheel also catches the light a lot. Strange design by Skoda. Must of been tested in Winter.

I found you get used to it, it was exactly the same with my last golf.
