Fahrenheit 102 hit in Surrey today and still rising - when are we going to take climate change seriously ?

If he had gone they would have said not taking the cost of living seriously.

If he does not go he isn’t taking climate seriously.

Flinging rocks is easy.

TBH I would request Charles attended on behalf of Britain and any other Commonwealth countries who desire it. Send a number of senior cabinet staff/MP too.

80 to 90% efficiency, in your dreams!!!

Another video with 4 minutes of BS before it gets to the actual subject, I am getting quite good at judging at which point to start watching from, in this case after 4 minutes and then only for about a minute, still BS but better than 10 minutes of it.

Apparently Sunak's spox has said it's not the right occasion for Charlie to go to COP27. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2022/oct/28/therese-coffey-rishi-sunak-cop27-climate-crisis-summit-failure-of-leadership-labour-uk-politics-live
Well let's just hope they don't send the new environment secretary and make the UK an even bigger laughing stock on the world stage.

The haunted 19th C catheter Rees-Mogg thinks it's right for the richest PM ever (£730m estimated) to not go as the rooms are a bit pricey.

King Charles or Prince William would have a hard neck going to COP27.

Mum & Grans and now their money & Royal household money comes from Oil & Gas and much more will over the next decade, then their Banks used for personal and Charity Foundations money are the biggest investors in fossil fuels.

Wasn't that the Trusstercluck?

Yeah, originally she was the one to ask him not to go but I would have thought Sunak could have overturned that.

Maybe Sunak doesn't want to upset his donors and that's one reason he's not going.

The Conservative & Unionist Chairman Nadhim Zahawi MP who was and maybe still is an oil company employee & who has a degree as a chemical engineer is not the person to attend Cop27.

He was the person who went to the US when he was the Chancellor of the Exchequer to hold meetings with Bankers & Oil & Gas executives  while Civil Servants were not present.

Then, ta ra. as if by magic, here we go, they can try for licences, get them, fill their boots, help the UK economy. help the politicians and help King Charles III and his extended family.

He will not be paying for his flights or £2,000 plus a night for rooms.  Then there is his Protection Squad which will be considerable.   He must be one of the biggest assassination targets in the world now.   He will be the one that authorised the UK special forces operating in the Ukraine.   Rishi Sunak has enough brain power to know to stay where he is safest.    He has world travel to worry about in the future as his unpopularity grows globally.      It takes a smaller person to take the bullet covering the present PM than it does with fat boy.

I'd recommend Rishi invests in some bulletproof shin guards.

No mention of having to travel by low emission means or please do not attend.

I wonder if he is going to have a Low Carbon Coronation next year.

Again any invited guests should not fly in or use fossil fuel transportation.

It looks like the Prime Minister must have found a few quid down the back of the sofa to travel to COP 27.

Only if he personally has managed in the short time available to have the budget sorted out.

Obviously he is working day and night personally on it even though there is a Treasury Department, many actual economists and tax experts and then the Chancellor of the Exchequer knocking their pans in. .

Signed.

In other news that could be good news for the environment, it looks like Bolsonaro has been turfed out. I just hope with such a narrow margin things don't descend.

@roottootlooks like Sunak was shamed into it. Global Britain and all that.

Pre Budget they were clearly able to get stuff done to let the top man get away.

PM's staff and the Chancellors and the other departments of government.

They just have to work like Off Shore Oil & Gas workers in UK waters.

21 days of 12 hour shifts no days off and jobs get done.

They will not be on just £42 an hour though and getting taxed at 45% or 46 % if in Scotland.

Bit of a mockery having a conference, where delegates travel to one place.

IF they were serious then the conference could be virtual, with a footprint far less than that of a jolly few days out.

Bit ironic, ( said with tongue in cheek) but the true carbon saviours are those travelogues in small boats, said to be illegal immigrants.

Incredibly high winter temperature across Europe.  UK now averages a temperature over 10C (my EV will love this, roll on 15 C)

Good drama to scare the bejesus out of us "The Rig".  Petroleum bites back.........
