How much to replace radiator (labour only)

Featured Replies

Have a leak in my vrs radiator which Winns radweld has sealed for the moment, how much should I be looking at to have a garage fit a new one? also, are there any other parts eg hoses I should replace at the same time? Thanks.

It's a nasty job, I would expect at least half a days labour, get the thermostat and ECT sensor changed while the cooling system is empty and you'll need fresh coolant as well as the new radiator.

I reckon it'll cost you a monkey.

Thanks Sepulchrave, is the thermo and ECT sensor one part?

No, ECT is Engine Coolant Temperature (sensor).

Not a lot of help to you but just to show how prices have gone up i had mine changed 7 years ago new radiator antifreeze and labour £186 it took them alot less than half a day.

Coolant temp sensors cheap and easy to change, be at the back of the engine.

You may find that location can dictate prices, negating any information given. May be better getting quotes and questioning those - I think people would tend to know if you are being taken to the cleaners.

You may find that they will not fit customer supplied parts
