Welcome to the forum Michael,

Thank you 🙃

With any software update, you do really need stable power, at the least I usually tell people to have their engine running to keep stable power.

So you mean start the engine and let it charge the battery, correct?

 During the official process at dealer, at the end the new software version will be updated at their end so they know you left factory with 0276, and now have 0306.  Not sure what you mean about changing of hardware parts exactly.

I meant, when e.g. I got a new steering wheel (because of those annoying travel assist issues, recently), the complete process of swapping this part, is documented in Skoda's internal software.

This obviously applies, too, if one of the control units are exchanged because of a hardware failure.

The aim might be to document the car's complete life for reference or in case of any global recall.

Yes, if you don't have a battery charger for example, then only safe choice is to start the engine.. unless you feel your battery has the strength (I would never risk this!)

Well yes, generally they would have a track of the changes made to the system, but if it failed hardware wise, then the new unit might be on a new hardware part with different firmware (we won't know unless it happens)  I would not worry too much about this software change, but document yourself if you like of course.

Thanks for this reply: I do have a charger available so I would prefer this way...

Saves fuel, it is what I would do!

Some cars have an economy mode which protects the battery from going flat. On Citroens this cuts in after about 30 minutes and shuts down all of the unnecessary electrical functions. If this happens during an update it is possible/likely that this will interupt an update and completely screw up the system. So on a Citroen it is not the battery going flat that causes the issue and a charger would be no use.

I don't know whether Skoda have anything similar, as I've never sat in my car with the radio on long enough to find out, but I wouldn't risk it. My car has decided to update itself a couple of times, and apart from the difficulty of getting the update to actually work, it hasn't taken a long time. Also if one of these semiautomatic updates is interrupted they restart when the car is started again.

So, basically the update has finished, but not fully as it seems.

The infotainment now shows below pic and I don't know how to proceed.

Should I press the item which reads "Resume"?

@MichiF The video doesn't show whole process, I can only assume you need to press "Resume" as you already think.

I took the challenge and all went fine. After using the Resume option the MIB3 restarted and is running as expected.

Right after this restart, I was offered a second update which also installed w/o any issues.

Thanks!

It won't work, the 0320 release can only be applied if you have 0308 installed as seen below in SupportedTrains
"Release": "MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P32000P",
"MuVersion": "0320",

"SupportedTrains": ["*_?308*", "*_?310*", "*_?312*", "*_?314*", "*_?316*", "*_?318*", "*_?320*"]

Hi,

Would you have a link to 0308 also and we can install that first?

You cannot install 0308, it's for a different hardware revision.  So update 0320 begins at 0308.

Taken from inside the update for the previous release

 "Release": "MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P30603P"
 "MuVersion": "0306"

<snip>

 "SupportedTrains": [
  "*_?268*",
  "*_?270*",
  "*_?272*",
  "*_?274*",
  "*_?276*",
  "*_?278*",
  "*_?300*",
  "*_?302*",
  "*_?304*",
  "*_?306*"
 ],

Hi,

Please accept my apologies. I gave you the wrong information earlier. It is actually MOI_EU_SKMQB_P30800P software version 0308 I have. I was looking at the wrong details from another car. Would you be able to send me a link to download 0320?

Kind regards

I will need to process it (pack) the release.  Make sure you don't try to force it onto an earlier software train.

I would like to see a picture of the Software Train, and if you can any details on the Hardware version (so we can answer the question 100%)

I noticed since the update to 0306, my Amundsen MIB3 boots up more often instead of awakening from standby.

Anyone seeing the same?

@djwwautodiagnostics Is there any hardware version info for that at all?  More curiousity as to why one ends at 0306, and other begins at 0308 to 0320 (currently)

HW: H25
SW: 0314
Navi: 22.12

->

HW: H25
SW: 0320
Navi: 23.1
Radio 1.30.36

Found this on a German forum (Karoq).

Too right.  You are offeing an invaluable free service out of your own kindness and community spirit  - no one should be trying to exploit that (if that is actually what is happening - and I apologise for my comment if that is not happening).

Might be an idea to post what version you are running now?

Picture is best of the Software Train value.
