Featured Replies

Maybe someone can suggest where i can order something like this

Profile like in picture:

(red is adhesive 3M tape)

Length 100cm (80cm windscreen + 20cm partly on the roof)
Left and Right have small difference in cut shapings on the ends.

There is also field for extended versions:
b)    237cm (80cm windscreen + 157cm whole length of roof) for sedan, would prefer that model
c)    ~280cm (80cm windscreen + ~200cm whole length of roof) for wagon

for current car, in far 2017, i ordered from Moscow
-> https://strelka11.ru/deflektor-2d/superb/deflektor-strelka-2/skoda-superb-690

but for known reason this source has been closed physically and morally for next few decades

Perhaps those from an Arteon or Passat would fit, it seems to be called a windscreen water deflector.

Can’t you order them from the site you linked?

The company linked to is in Ruzzia; I'd guess that no-one in the Baltics is prepared to trade with them since February 2022.

Well to be fair, not all Russian businesses are run by Putin-supporting nutters.

Maybe not but one would hope that the sane Russians affected by the sanctions continue to put pressure on the"nutters", to end the war and depose the madman.

loyalty to russia depends on distance to border,

from my less than 300 km i have that point of view:

1. that isn't one crazy man war, tens of millions support him and wants more blood.
i freely speak russian, and time at time can check their media.

2. that isn't only Ukraine problem,

if support to their Heroes won't be enough, then rushists will come to Europe too 😞

Is there anything like this for the sedan's rear glass? I usually find all kinds of twigs in between the glass.

Can these items be sourced from Georgia?  Georgia is still trading with Russia and I believe the Baltic States are buying Russian goods via Georgia.  My brother in law from Klaipėda said he will be visiting Liepāja on Wednesday (a public holiday in Lithuania),as the local shops have run out of has favourite Russian vodka, but he says it's still available in Latvia where it's been sourced through Georgia.

partly solved by adding soft rubber, ordered from Ali.

wide side glued on metal, narrow remains in the air

~2mm closer on the left side than on right makes it less effective

Ordered this “Z” shaped foamy rubber strip from aliexpress, fitted in June 2023, still sits in place today. It does its job really good, not a drop of wiper fluid lands on the side windows any more. Oh yeah, had a windshield replacement last winter, it wasn't in the way at all.

What's the function? To stop rain water flowing sideways off the windscreen? Does it send the water up instead? How is this beneficial?

Sorry for the many questions. Just trying to understand the purpose.

If I remember first developed by the mighty Silver Star for the W126 S-Klasse, if I remember right ...

Spare a few moments and watch from 4.35, actually if you want to watch it all, it gives a beautiful insight of the meaning of the harmony between "engineering, design, function", a large part of which I consider now lost.

Well, I am still waiting to see if I can find a way to bring a couple those from Russia ... someday, when they realize how futile and fruitless this exercise has been, pity for all involved.

Interesting, I had noticed my previous Golf and the Superb were both bad for spilling on to the front window.  Seems mad as my 1990 Honda Accord had a built in gutter to guide water up and over the roof.

Soo, i bought and fit the gasket mentioned earlier. Overall don't even notice at a glance that it's there. Hopefully there's plenty of rain after work this evening.

For about £10 i seem to have enough for 2 and a half cars
