it looks like Apple CarPlay a bit....

I like the new AA UI, but it’s really frustrating how Skoda (VW in general) implemented that notification slider and you always have that unused black bar at the top of the screen. Just wasted space that on a 8” display is important.

Has anyone experienced a sound issue? When you unlock the phone or when you receive a message or call, the audio volume decreases and then does not return to the previous level. When disconnecting the phone from Škoda multimedia and connecting it again, the volume and sound clarity are restored again. The same is also observed on the Passat B8

I did get my Android Auto to fullscreen by removing it from homes screen, it seems its stays the same size as it is in the home screen 3x4, by removing it, it is fullsreen when I open it from menu. I have 10" screen.

Idk. I've got just Android smartphone.

@fistach and how did it look before on Swing? Was it wider, and car controls bar(s) in different position, or...?

In Columbus it didn't change THAT much, except that there's now a bit more possibilities (better control of layout, some additions in app widgets, like additional screen with favorites in music player, static phone button). Change for better from my perspective.

I also like it better than before on different screens (like your Swing or Pioneer headunit in my wife's car). At least there's now music player widget.

Got mine working today, i like it but in split screen mode the music window is too big and unfortunately Waze doesn't go full screen, but they said they're working on it so it's cool. Full screen map looks great on the google maps app. I definitely prefer this new version to the old. I just wonder if the Android Auto App is not crashing and restarting anymore when i lose cell data while driving, if that's fixed then i'm as happy as a pigeon in a car park.

Not always. I have a S21 and typing in Waze is horible. I've noticed that I dont have this lag if I connect the phone via wire...

If you delete the Android auto widget it goes full screen, looks better too

Exactly. My wife and I have the same phone, with the same AA version, and she got the update several days before me - how unfair......... 😉
I think the changes are more evolutionary than revolutionary, since we already had the split screen, which is the big new thing for most others. 
The biggest improvement for me is the ability to expand Google Maps to full screen. But there are also numerous minor improvements, making AA an overall more polished experience.

Anyway, the new version just confirms even more, how superior AA is to Skodas own navigation - sadly......
