Auxiliary radiator fan in Felicia, worth it?

Featured Replies

wouldn't the two fans interfere that way? The stock fan seems to have quite bad geometry, couldn't some modern fan with a better geometry do a bit better job?

  • You have a well designed system functioning perfectly, the thermostat has never even fully opened and yet you wish to add more cooling! A solution looking for a problem.   Adding an addition

  • You already have an electric fan which has enough mass airflow capability to cool a hot but idling engine in city traffic. Been there, done that...

  • Felicia has a big hole under the engine, I could feel hot air coming out of the engine underneath and the car - and that was with the weak motor of the non-ac 1.3. With AC, you have two speed fan, if

No since both will be in push configuration. Geometry is bad but they powered out of it. That's why it's so damn noisy

The one with the 6 blades?

Replace the stock (for example) with one like this?

The high performance fan can be used to replace the factory product for more efficient cooling. It allows more air to circulate around the radiator so less horsepower is needed. It also has an ultra-slim design so the fan can be easily installed in your cooler, in the most convenient position to allow more room for other aftermarket components.

Yes it's a push type so it goes in front and it's OK power, although I would opt for something around 200W mark

We can not use Puller fan since we have that factory metal cover but isn't risky to cut it and install one?

we will use a pusher fan obviously

We can screw the upper part of the new fan on the plastic radiator duct but what about the lower part?

Bracket of some kind of patend?

use mounting clips, and ties through the rad

Let's hope that vibrations + cables ties won't hurt the thin metallic folds of the radiator in long term use.

In high speed driving (national road) the auxiliary fan will spin alone?

Whether the aluminium expansion tank cools down (heats up) quicker will make no odds overall in hot city traffic on a hot summer's day

A friend of mine asked a manufacturer of aluminium expansion tank about ''heat exchange'' with the engine bay.

The answer was '' is not significant".

I will make my Felicia like a Corvette with side air vents to get heat out from the engine bay.

Unfortunately not at this moment, the Skoda site where the information are is under maintenance, they are changing servers and are "temporary closed".

In a few days, when it opens again, i will find the topic and transfer all the information it has about the motor.

The guy is a Greek driver ,Nizamis
