Rear wiper motor

Featured Replies

Any ideas why my rear wiper motor is inconsistent and I had a Fabia which did dame even when I replaced motor Fabia was 61 octavia 63

What do you mean by 'inconsistent'? It only works occasionally? It stops halfway? You need to be specific about the fault(s).

It stops randomly on cycle.doesnt.do complete wipe cycle.

Likely to be an internal fault with the self-parking contact. Does the wiper restart immediately when you push the stalk forward?

This is probably why, they are prone to water ingress. Mine was jamming more and more over the last few weeks.

Cleaned mine all up and regressed, as the motor was still ok.

All working for now.

Just did the same.  No movement whatsoever.  Opened it up and there it was rusted tight.  Cleaned it up with alcohol, deoxit and WD40.  I think the order of failure is, blocked jets result in back pressure of water into the housing causing rust, causing it to mechanically seize.  The motor was fine, just the moving parts that refused to move. At least that was on mine.  Different unit, but very similar and the same looking issue.

I had mine replaced under an dealership extended warranty. Started off like yourself, then completely stopped. I checked myself to see if there was a 12v feed it it, there was. If I didn't have the warranty I'd have replaced it myself, seems an relatively easy job to replace.

Common fault, apparently.
