Tpms no option to “set” on infotainment

Recommended Posts

Hello all - I hope you are well.

Been living with the permanent tpms warning on dash now for at least 4 months, tried everything, mot is due in a week or so so now I REALLY want to go get rid of it🤬

I’ve had vcds and also Autocom scanners on it,clear codes and it pops up again.

Just put air in at 35psi all around and still the option to “Set” does not show up on the infotainment.

I’ve bought a new genuine tpms sensor that I believe is linked to the ABS system just in case …. On reading up,if my tyre valves are rubber,it most likely not an individual, independent system but ABS instead which is linked to the rotations of the wheel.

Thanks for your help,I’m flummoxed with this

I had the exact same thing happen to me and to cut a looong story short the actual problem was an ABS sensor that'd failed, once that was replaced I was able to reset the tyre pressure warning (*along with a lot more warnings  that had come up too).

A VCDS or OBD11 scan will tell you which ABS sensor is faulty.

That code above is the only one that came up,it is within ABS in vcds but it is very vague, doesn’t say which wheel …..

i don't know what code you're referring to, but as PetrolDave  says you can find out which one in either VCDS or OBD11 (it was the former that gave me the correct info).

Note to self *

DO NOT LEAVE MY GENUINE HEXv2 vcds in my Audi TT in Uk.

Here in Ireland with my MQB vrs Skoda estate, the borrowed Chinese clone ****e will spit it out.

TPMS code cleared with Snap On at a local mechanics for €40.

This will accept and update the genuine article only.Heres what shows on Chinese crap and cannot be corrected. Also the “Set “ function will not show on the touchscreen,I  presume until a full Autoscan and clear all fault codes has been accomplished, which it won’t with a knock off.

Thank you to everyone for all of your help in following this problem

Sometimes you have to sort problems in order! So topping the Washer Fluid first, may, and I mean, May! allow you to then 'Set' the tyre pressure!

Give it a go! it won;t hurt! 😁

How do you know the order?

Maybe they wont be able to top up the washer fluid until the TPMS is reset.

This is why I retro fitted the TPMS button to my MK7....only China get it!...

Having everything on a touch screen is stupid, if the touch screen goes thats it how you do TPMS or even switch of the ASR/ESC in winter?...
